Transcript of Power point pentecost fest
St. Malachi ParishPentecost FestJune 8, 2011
More than fifty people attended
The Third Annual Pentecost Fest and Pot Luck Dinner.
This is just a sample of what was sung, what was prayed, and what was said.
It started with a fabulous Pot Luck meal and time to meet new friends and talk with some long time friends.
There was an opening prayer then eleven people expressed their Spiritual experiences, their Faith.
Between each set of speakers, we invited the Holy Spirit to be among us then and now in song,
accompanied by the Choir bells.
The evening closed with prayer and a song, The City of God.
The hope is you enjoy this taste of Spirit from fellow St. Malachi Parishioners.
Pot Luck Dinner!
Opening Prayer
Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy;
Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my works, too, may be holy;
Draw my heart, O Holy spirit, that I love but what is holy;
Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy;
Guard me then, O Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy.
AMEN.SAINT AUGUSTINE OF HIPPO

I've been real blessed to have my faith for many, many years.
My strongest belief is in the liturgy and in
that we are a Eucharistic people, to
be communion.

[about a walk on Cranberry Mountain] You can feel the Holy Spirit so close as you stand over the clouds.
[about a good friend]The Spirit is in the
memories of a friend, Vicky, who could bring out the sunshine in a
thunderstorm.

There are a lot of little ways that I have felt the Holy
Spirit…in many small and seemingly
insignificant ways every day.
In the silence of slowing down and
listening, I know the Holy Spirit is there.

Bill’s seven week illness with leukemia
offered the opportunity to share our fears, memories and his journey to
death.
Spirit, you see gifts in me that I don't know
that I have.

An emotional and joyful Pentecost
celebration in Rome was a once in a
lifetime experience.
I start my mornings praying: God, what do you want me to
do?
Mom’s advice was to pray to the Holy
Spirit.
Mark Nolan
So many people - you, my family, my
neighbors, my friends - people around the
country were praying for me!
Song: “It’s like going
through life with one eye closed and one
eye opened…there’s still plenty of love.”
“We’re standing with the MAN.”

I have been down dark valleys and topsy turvy rollercoasters in
my life - and I have gotten out of the
valleys and off the rollercoaster.

When I open myself up and stop saying, what I want, I can recognize that the Spirit is in my life. When I am open, I allow the Spirit to
speak to me.
A Halloween/New Year’s Eve fraternity party offered me the opportunity to meet future wife, Joanna.
Bill Weisler
My real name is Vincent Weisler’s
father.
My experience, like so many of yours, has
been as a seeker.
I asked and received a decision whether to
enter Jesuits or Maryknoll
Missionaries basted on friend’s making
foul shots.

I have come here all of my life, and until working through the St. Ignatius volunteer
program, I did not realize just how much
St. Malachi's helps.
The gifts of the Holy Spirit are used in
wonderful ways in all of us.

When I thought about the vision I had when I was 7 years old on
Easter morning, there was no doubt that I
had experienced something Divine,
something from God.
At that moment my Catholic faith became
my own.
Closing PrayerLord, send the gift of your Spirit to fill this place and myself and the
world.Touch me with truth that burns like fire,
With beauty that moves me like the wind;And set me free, Lord, free to try new ways of living;
Free to forgive myself and others;Free to laugh and sing;
Free to lay aside my burden of security;Free to join the battle for justice and peace;
Free to see and listen and wonder again at the gracious mystery of things and persons;
Free to be, to give, to receive, to rejoice as a child of your Spirit.And, Lord teach me how to dance, to turn around and come down
where I want to be, in the arms and heart of your people and in you,
That I may praise and enjoy you forever.GUERILLAS FOR GRACE
