What is a lighting Qualified Products List?
• A lighting QPL is a list of products that have been evaluated for performance and efficiency specifications.
• The list is designed to promote the widespread adoption of the energy-efficient lighting by providing utilities with an independent evaluation resource.
• The QPL is also a tool for architects, specifiers, engineers and contractors to evaluate and compare lighting products for their projects and programs.
• Both Energy Star and Design Light Consortium (DLC) maintain QPLs that are recognized by the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency program.
Eligibility requirements for retrofit lighting projects
• LED products must be either Energy Star or DLC listed.
***Logo on spec sheet is not sufficient to confirm listing***
• Energy Star lists lamps and products that look like lamps.
These products are typically available through Instant Incentive
for which eligibility requirements have already been confirmed.
• DLC lists most other types of LED lighting and are typically
incentivized through the Standard Lighting or Custom program.
Eligibility will be confirmed as part of the pre-approval
and/or final approval project evaluation process.
• LED lighting products must be either Energy Star or DLC listed.

• Projects with an anticipated incentive of >$10K require pre-approval.
o DLC listing will be confirmed and documented.
o The customer and/or ally will be notified of any unlisted products to provide an opportunity to select an alternate.
o Listing at pre-approval will be honored regardless of status at final approval.
• Projects with incentive of <$10k can apply for incentives upon project completion.
o DLC listing with be confirmed as part of the incentive application review. Products that are not listed will not receive incentives.
o Customer/ally should confirm and document that the product was listed at time of purchase.

o All custom lighting projects require pre-approval.
o DLC listing will be confirmed and documented.

DLC V4.0/V4.1 Delisting
• The DLC Technical Requirements V4.0/V4.1 went into full
effect Monday, April 3.
• The DLC has delisted any products that do not meet
Technical Requirements V4.0/V4.1 on Monday, April 3.
These products have been moved to the de-listed QPL.
• Approx. 40% of DLC products delisted.
Demonstration - “How to confirm a DLC listing”
Exceptions
An exception to the listing requirement with be considered for the following cases:
• No DLC category for the product
o Must apply under Custom program
• The product is essentially the identical to a listed product except for one or two parameters which do not
impact overall performance, e.g., lensing material, CCT
o May apply under Standard Lighting or Custom program (depending on other project parameters)
• A very limited selection of products (i.e., just a few) are listed
o Must apply under Custom program
• Energy Advisors can help with determining which of the above may apply
Test data will be requested for an internal evaluation of product performance
Not all exception requests may be considered or approved
Applying for lighting incentives on-line
• Program allies are able to submit for incentives for retrofit
lighting projects using an on-line application.
• Equipment eligibility is confirmed as part of the on-line
application process, ineligible equipment is identified.
• No need to separately confirm Energy Star or DLC
listing.
• Available for standard and custom lighting projects only.
• Pre-approval and final approval guidelines are the same
as for paper-based applications.
