Power Center

The Power Center is a concealed trough located inthe center of a conference table, between table bases.It provides power and voice/data connectivityfor individuals seated at a conference table.

The Power Center’s trough is equipped with power andvoice/data components. Access doors can be specified inmetal or wood. Multiple Power Centers can be useddepending on table size.

Each trough — whether 30" or 40" long — contains:• Eight (8) simplex receptacles• Four (4) single-gang faceplates (voice/data)• One (1) double-gang faceplate (voice/data)• 6' Hardwire power infeed standard. 6' Plug-inpower infeed option available.

The trough’s 6' power infeed can be routed through anybase location. Refer to pages 256-257 for detailed powerand voice/data planning information.

The gripper grommet provides access into the troughfrom underneath the table.

Not a drop-in unit.

One power infeed per Power Center.

Power Planning Power Center Electrical System

• Eight (8) simplex receptacles provided per trough, located in the centerpower island.

• 4-wire, 2-circuit electrical system• Trough is pre-wired.• 15-amp hardwire power infeed standard. A licensed electrician is required to complete

hardwire connections to building’s power source. Plug-in power infeed option available.• 4-wire, 2-circuit electrical system supplied for standard hardwire infeed. Single circuit

electrical system supplied for optional plug-in power infeed.• All wires are 12 gauge.• UL listed.• One (1) double-gang cutout and two (2) single-gang cutouts are supplied for

future upgrades.

Chicago Electrical Requirements

The city of Chicago may require hardwiring of electrical components. For Chicagoapplications, Nucraft provides a non-powered trough and power island. Electricalcomponents such as junction boxes and receptacles must be purchased in the field.Chicago-designated troughs will contain all standard voice/data components.

Other Municipality Electrical Requirements

Other metropolitan areas besides Chicago may have special electrical requirementsas well. Consult a local electrical contractor for proper code compliance information.

Voice/Data Planning The Power Center features faceplates with Decora-style bezel inserts.Equipped standard with:

• Two (2) NEMA size single-gang cutouts, each containing:One (1) Decora single-gang wallplate coverOne (1) Decora multimedia insert (2-port)One (1) RJ11 (voice) snap-in connectorOne (1) RJ45 (data) snap-in connector (category 5e)

• Two (2) NEMA size single-gang cutouts, each containing:One (1) Decora wallplate coverOne (1) Decora multimedia insert (blank)

Each single-gang cutout can be converted to a maximum of six (6) voice/data jacksor a duplex receptacle for additional power capability.

• One (1) NEMA size double-gang cutout with blank cover.

The double-gang cutout can be converted to a maximum of twelve (12) voice/datajacks or two (2) duplex receptacles for power capability. Prefabricated voice/data unitscan also be used (example: Extron).

Perimeter Power

Perimeter Power provides enhanced power and commu-nication connectivity for each individual seated at aconference table. Attached to the table’s apron, PerimeterPower maintains a clean aesthetic on the table top.

Perimeter Power is equipped with the followingcomponents:

• Hardwire power infeed (6')• Duplex receptacles• NEMA size single-gang cutouts (voice/data)• Single-gang wallplate cover (blank)• 20 AMP System

The hardwire power infeed has a modular connector onone end; the connector attaches to the back side of anypower block mounted on the table’s apron. This featureallows total flexibility in determining floor monumentlocation under any table base. All tables ship prewired.

Note: Clearance from the floor to the bottom of the apronis 24-3/4". Apron is recessed 2-1/8" under the table.
