Early Conflict Resolution Invest in Your Community

“An ADR Professional with condominium knowledge is your best bet for addressing condominium conflict.”

The cost of early conflict resolution sessions are equivalent to the cost of a traditional initial enforcement letter. The conciliatory approach is designed to promote community harmony.

ConfidentialityMediationMediation is a confidential process and CONDOMEDIATORS.ca is fully invested in ensuring that the mediation process is one of trust, creativity and security. It is essential that the parties and the mediator act in full confidence that their hard work and commitment to honesty in the process will be respected when parties leave the mediation tablmediation table.

Location and Scheduling FlexibilityOur team of mediators conducts mediations across Ontario, including at condominium corporations where facilities are appropriate. We also are pleased to accommodate evening and weekend sessions.

Party-drivenMediation is a process that is driven by the parties. It presents an opportunity to empower those in conflict to resolve their dispute outside of the courts.

We encourage all to participate in mediation with an open mind and the mentality that you have nothing to lose by taking part.

The Government of Ontario has identified effective condominium conflict management to be of the utmost importance. The courts have increasingly been directing condominium corporations to try a conciliatory approach before proceeding to trial – and rendering cost consequences when such approach has not been taken.

EliaElia Associates offers condominium corporations discounted rates for arranging mediations to address disputes within their communities in the earliest stages and provides a report to the condominium corporation as a record of its attempt to help.

OUR MEDIATORS

Our mediators enhance traditional mediation training with practical condominium industry expe-rience, expertise in coaching and depth of “condo-minium knowledge” to present a collaborative process.

The role of the mediator is to facilitate the conflict resolution process. The mediator makes no deci-sions in respect of the conflict nor imposes any resolutions upon the parties.

The mediator is a neutral and impartial party who assists those involved in conflict in understanding each other’s perspective and examining their options.

WHY MEDIATION?

CondominiumCondominium disputes are unique in nature as the parties involved often remain in close community throughout the course of the conflict. Taking into consideration the amount of time and money that is required to take a dispute through the court system, mediation may provide the chance to address a conflict early and quickly.

As mediators focused on condominium conflict, we are dedicated to helping condominium communi-ties proactively manage conflict through the provi-sion of cost-effective, creative and timely mediation services.

Through our team of qualified condominium medi-ators, Elia Associates is pleased to offer a variety of dispute resolution styles, including early neutral evaluation. Please contact us for further details on the range of services we have to offer.

VALUE ADDED

While the best case scenario may very well be that the dispute is settled at mediation, there is more to be gained than just an end to the dispute. Even if the conflict is not resolved at mediation, it can help serve to:

Narrow the issues in dispute

Improve the relationship between disputants (who are often in close proximity)

Better understand the perspectives/interests of the other parties

BBring to light some creative solution options that may warrant further investigation
