Potter Funeral Home has been a cornerstone of Willimantic for over one

hundred years. During that time the public has seen several di�erent faces

carryout its long-standing tradition of exceptional family service. The sta� is

led by Glenn and Ti�any Blumenstein, who have continued the time-honored

traditions of caring. The sta� members at Potter Funeral Home are committed

to providing your family with the �nest services and products available. They

are available 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

We encourage you to call us with any questions or situations with which you

Payment PolicyWe understand that losing someone you love is an emotional and life-changing experience. Consideration of any �nancial rami�cations is very di�cult. We hope to help you plan a tribute in a way that is both meaningful to you and your family and also honors the life of your loved one.

Payment prior to cremation or burial: We request payment in full the day prior to planned services. If for any reason a balance remains due you will be billed at your home within 14 days. The balance will be due in 30 days. If you are unable to pay the balance in that time, late payment and interest charges will be applied.

Some of the payment methods we accept include:1. Cash, Check, Money Order, or Cashier’s Check 2. Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) – payment by

credit card for cash advances will have an additional 5% fee added.3. Insurance Policy with the bene�ciary’s consent. The policy can be used as payment

for the funeral expenses. Insurance assignment is acceptable if the following criteria are met:

• The policy is veri�ed by us and all documentation is signed preceding the funeral.• The policy is assignable and payable directly to the funeral home.• The policy must be non-contestable (if in the contestable period, the policy will

not be accepted as a form of payment).• Pre-Arranged and Pre-Paid Funerals

4. In some cases, the deceased’s estate must pay for funeral expenses. In these instances we request that a family member take the �nancial obligation for funeral expenses and then �le for reimbursement with the estate.

5. Financing is available with approved credit.

It is our policy to provide funeral services to all those within our community, and we do not wish for anyone to be limited by �nances; if �nancial hardship is an issue, we ask that you contact us to speak more about the options that we can provide.

Prices are e�ective March 14, 2020 and are subject to change without notice.

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not speci�cally ask for, we will explain the reason, in writing, in our statement document which describes the funeral goods and services you selected.

Professional Services A. Basic Services of Funeral Director and Sta� .....................................................$2,29500

Our charge includes consultation with the family or responsible party; sta� and facilities to respond to request for services, coordinating service plans with cemetery, crematory, and/or other parties involved in the �nal disposition of the deceased; securing o�cial documents and necessary registrations; and sheltering of the deceased. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burial, and forwarding or receiving remains.)

Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

Our charge includes; basic services of funeral director and sta�; a proportionate share of overhead costs; care of remains; transportation of remains to funeral home and to the cemetery or crematory. It does not include viewing or funeral service.

Our charge for a direct cremation (without ceremony) includes: basic services of funeral director and sta�; a proportionate share of overhead costs; removal of remains; essential care of the deceased when not embalmed; transportation to crematory. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like �berboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are a wood & �berboard container $120.00; a �berboard with interior $250.00; or an un�nished wood box $795.00.

Our charge for an immediate burial (without ceremony) includes: basic services of funeral director and sta�; a proportionate share of overhead costs; removal of remains; essential care of the deceased when not embalmed; and local transportation to cemetery. (Upon your request a loved one will be bathed and dressed; a private family only 30 minute viewing may be done, at a time of the funeral home’s convenience.) Our most basic casket option is an un�nished wood casket and costs $1,095.00. Most cemeteries require you to purchase an outer burial enclosure (sometimes called a vault). The enclosures we sell are made of concrete and start at $1,495.00.
