Basic Project Information
Modification
• Reaction time tester• Uses an Arduino Uno circuit board
containing a microcontroller• Flashes a red, green, blue LED light• Sounds a random buzzer• Displays reaction time in milliseconds on
LCD screen
• Themed after The Flash for a nice aesthetic
• Code displays super hero reaction time comparisons based on actual reaction time
(SK Pang, 2015)(RobotShop, 2015)
(DC Comics, 1938)

Completed Project Description
• Reaction time tester was successfully made• Problems:
•Wrong parts• Problems with displaying messages
• Solutions:• Bought correct parts• Fixed code to correctly display
• Learned about:• Arduino• Gantt Chart• Shop Skills• Time Management
• Fun and interactive hand-held game
• Paint job modeled after The Flash
• Reaction time compared to a superhero
Discussion and Conclusion
(Humphrey, 2015)
Calculations Potentiometer vs. Screen Contrast• There is a direct relationship between LCD
driving voltage and contrast
• 𝑉driveLCD = (220ohm) (220ohm+ pot) (5v)𝑅
• (VdriveLCD/5v) 1023 [conversion]=Flinear
• Every 10% of Flinear equals 10% contrast
