INNOVATION RESULTS: In a six month trial involving approximately 50 patients by the Nigerian subsidiary of Heineken NV: 16 (32%) or enrolled patients progressed to satisfactory control of their pathology 15(30%) required escalation of their medical care to specialists INNOVATION EXPANSION: InStrat and Anadach Group have partnered to expand the offering to include locally customized health, wellness, dietary and nutritional messaging direct to subscribers’ mobile phones by SMS: Health Messaging (Health Education, Wellness Tips, Chronic Disease Messaging) Interactive Health Information (Automated health responses on conditions that people don’t want to discuss – e.g. STDs, HIV, ED, Drug Abuse, Mental Illness, Women’s Sexual Health) To date, the messaging service has been scaled up to 2,000 + subscribers ABOUT THE INNOVATION: Patients who are enrolled in the OWD Service text their daily readings (e.g. blood pressure and blood sugar) to the monitoring system. The system analyzes the data and alerts patients’ physicians or caregivers when readings breach preset thresholds.
