Poster Background
• The second part of our print work is poster for our soap drama. After extensive research I have decided my poster will only feature one main character, I feel It has to be a solo poster as I can create drama around one character, I can choose from a range of different photo angles whether that be a close up to show characters facial expression or a long shot to give you an idea of the character profile.
The Walking Dead
• The Walking dead poster text and tag line is the basis of what I want the text on my poster to look like. The text is black with a bold capitalised font. This is an effective font as it feels quite dark which is what I want to portray in my poster, as I feel the drama and scandal we portray in our soap is quite dark. The tagline is in the same font colour and style but on a much smaller scale above the title. I feel this is quite an abstract feature which I would love to try and incorporate into my printwork.
Hawaii Five-O
• This is an appealing poster as I like the framing of the girl in the picture, this is the stance I want my character to be at when on my poster. However I do not like the facial expression as I feel it is to plain for my character profile. The hand on the hip is a feminine trait and I would rather have my character to have his arms crossed.
House Of Cards
• The feature id like to include from this poster is the facial expression of the character on the front. His expression comes across as incredibly smug, by using a low angle shot it gives the impression of more authority which is something I wasn’t from my character.
Conclusion from Poster Research
• Character should be shot from an extreme long shot to portray my characters profile.• The shot must be from a low angle to
portray the idea of the character being powerful..• The text must be in a large
capitalised dark font as it emphasises what show it is and that this is a new soap.
