position as one of Asia's leading consumer boat shows.

2016 AT A GLANCE

he 13th edition of the Phuket International Boat Show, held

at the award-winning Royal Phuket Marina, showcased a

spectacular display of yachts, marine equipment and lifestyle

products, once again emphasising its position as the most

important consumer boat show in Thailand.

The Show has become a key fixture in the industry calendar and continues to attract international exhibits, leading local dealers and brokers as well as millionnaires and billionnaires from all over Asia-Pacific. As the longest running marine and lifestyle Show in South East Asia, PIMEX 2016 attracted a selection of the leading luxury car manufacturers, premium lifestyle services, marine products and luxury property developers in the Exhibition Hall, making this year the biggest and busiest Show yet!

Independently audited, over half of our 5,500 visitors were international, showing that Phuket really is the heart of boating in this region. Over 60 international boat brands represented the line up, including speedboats, ski boats and four superyachts priced at over THB360 million each. With the Thai Government looking to open up the superyacht charter market in Thailand, there was an increased showing of superyachts at this years Show with the biggest, the Majesty 105, attracting a lot of attention.

In addition to an impressive line-up of motor yachts, the Phuket International Boat Show saw a 35 per cent increase in the number of sailing yachts and multihulls exhibiting this year. A number of brands, including the Fountaine Pajot Victoria 67, made their Asian premiere at PIMEX 2016, reflecting Phuket’s increasing position as the hottest yachting destination in Asia. Following increased interest from superyacht brands, we will be offering a dedicated superyacht facility at next year’s Show.

Phuket Int’l Boat ShowWhilst the Phuket International Boat Show’s main focus will always

be boating and yachting, we encourage exhibitors to host clients

and organise exclusive parties during the four-day Event.

Our Thursday night VIP Opening Ceremony, presided by the Governor of Phuket Province, Mr. Chamroen Tippayapongtad, offered exhibitors, visitors and members of the media to kick off the Event in style, with a showcase of

live music, gourmet food, free-flow drinks and ample opportunities to build new relationships, network and to see old friends.

VIP OPENING CEREMONYBMW unvei led their new 7-Ser ies at a atmospheric launch party held on the Friday.The colourful Town Square provided the perfect setting for BMW to showcase one of their most iconic models and for exhibitors and visitors alike to entertain prospective clients. Highlights included a live jazz band, free-flow wine and gourmet canapés.

This year, evening events helped exhibitors take

full advantage of the spectacular Royal Phuket

Marina environment – from cocktails and live

music in the Town Square to craft beers and

gourmet food on the Boardwalk, not to mention

informal or private gatherings on yachts in the

marina.

Throughout PIMEX 2016, exhibitors and visitors

had a number of exciting possibilities to

mingle, network or simply catch up with old

friends - including the Opening Ceremony, the

launch of the new BMW 7-Series, plus a variety

of organised parties. And, with the impressive backdrop of the Royal Phuket Marina, the lively

atmosphere and international crowd attending the Event made for some truly memorable evenings.

PIMEX 2016 was abuzz, from opening to closing and long into the nights, with a collection of parties and gatherings arranged by exhibitors. In the Exhibition Hall, Max-Marine and Sunseeker partnered with Heineken to offer Happy Hour drinks, whilst on the marina, Simpson Marine, Boat Lagoon Yachting and Multihull Solutions, amongst others, entertained guests with live music, cocktails and craft beer.
