The challenges in urbanisation in India are taking a different tone all together so such activities of coming together and deliberation and learning from each others’ experience and a forum to get international and national technologies and exhibitors, I believe will help the process of tackling the challenges of urbanisation to a great extent. Municipalika was the first such forum which was focused on urban and city life. Municipalika is a pioneer in terms of this and also in tackling these urban issues. Congratulations for all the good work done by Municipalika.

He stated the shift in urbanisation from urban regions that are hierarchically ordered to linear corridors and how it will help in cre-ating a better future.

Ravindran elaborated on the impor-tance of sustainability and how sustain-able development will be the fundamental base for Future Cities. Municipalika has a great role in bringing together various stakeholders like city managers, domain experts, consultants, government bodies for exchange of best practices and for creating awareness about the importance of developing our urban spaces. It has been a pleasure to participate in this event.

Mahendra Jain, IASAdditional Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka

I am quite impressed by the scale of Municipalika. To bring people from so many different fields together is an achievement. I have been speaking in the sessions of this event for many years. All the topics discussed here are of current relevance and will be useful for the future development of the cities.

K T RavindranDean Emeritus RICS School of Built Environment

Municipalika is a very well-organized event. It has covered all the aspects of the built environment. Both the conference sessions and the exhibitions were very encouraging and enlightening.

Harinder Saroup DograChairman, Bureau of Indian Standards

I am participating in Municipalika for quite a long time. This year Municipalika is doing very well in terms of organising the sessions and also from the exhibition point of view. The event has grown in terms of size and also the quality of subjects.

S. KarthikeyanPrincipal Counsellor, Confederation of Indian Industry

Municipalika is an excellent forum bringing together people from different cities. I am very happy to be a part of this event and interact with people from diverse fields. I got knowledge about a variety of products especially products related to building energy efficiency, projects and implementation. I would like to suggest that Municipalika should reach out to more colleges and students and involve them in the discussions on creating sustainable and smart cities.

Roshni Udyavar YehudaHead-Operations, ENSystems Advisory, Pvt. Ltd.

I am very happy to come here and this is the first time an NGO is participating in Municipalika. We at Aga Khan Agency for Habitat are very interested in urban planning and I am enthused to see all the great ideas. Municipalika is a wonderful forum. It would be great if the idea of mixing the public and the private sector is carried forward. The idea of getting policy makers and thinkers in one forum is unique.

I am pleased to be a part of CAPEx. There are exceedingly high challenges that are coming up in the next 5-10 years. Urban planning has an important role to play. The organisers have done a good work of bringing people from diverse backgrounds to discuss these challenges. It takes a lot of effort to pull together such a large event with such large number of delegates, speakers and visitors.

Scott B KnoxSr Architect/Urban Designer Sunlight World Headquarters

I have been coming at Municipalika every year. This event has become unique and some new components like CAPEx and IIPM are added. There is participation from all over India and a lot of Municipal, Government authorities, Industrial people, Architects and Students have been participating. This event helps in understanding future technologies, opportunities and helps in our business and upliftment of the entire profession. I have expressed my vision of developing small towns. Nagari Vikas Yojana needs to be done. Opportunities need to be created there so that people don’t have to move to the large urban areas.

Prem NathArchitect M/s. Prem Nath & Associates, Mumbai

My experience at Municipalika has been very good. There are a lot of good companies here that the Canadian companies are looking forward to meet and do business. Municipalika is a great platform to showcase the capabilities and work that the Canadian companies are doing. We are looking forward to have partnerships with Indian companies.

Chad HenslerConsulate General of Canada

It is my first time at Municipalika and it was a good experience. It’s always interesting to hear different perspectives on the same topic. Government has to find ways to take forward the ideas discussed here.

Widemar M. SpruijitFounding Member, ISU

Municipalika has always been a great experience for me. It is a very good platform for different stakeholders to come together across India and also from different parts of the world to come and share their experiences and also see how India is progressing in different sectors and also discuss ways in which India can develop further. The in depth discussion in the various conferences will help in shaping better cities. We have organised the ISU Mumbai workshop for the first time in this event to discuss issues within Mumbai and find solutions for the sustainable future development of Mumbai.

Dr. Sujata S. GovadaFounding and Managing Director, UDP International

Municipalika is a wonderful event and I have been participating in this event for several years now. It brings together product manufacturers, academicians, experts, field practitioners. It has been a knowledgeable experience as we get to know what different people are working on and can share our own experiences. I would like to suggest the organisers to conduct this event at four different places within a year. This could be an experiment and people from different parts of India who cannot travel can also get the benefit.

Dr. P.S.N. RaoDirector, School of Planning and Architecture

In Municipalika, I have come across various very useful suppliers of garbage processors, various other machineries which are useful in the activities of the corporation. In the ‘All India Mayor Council meeting’ we have discussed various problems faced by Mayors in day to day activities and solutions to resolve them.

Anil VasudevaMayor, Municipal Corporation of Pathankot

It is a great experience to be a part of Municipalika. Wide range of stakeholders have participated in this event. All the aspects have been covered in the conference sessions.

Majid HashmiManaging Director, KMH Engineering

Municipalika is a required forum for the country. Our population is moving towards urban areas and this event helps in the exchange of ideas which are useful for developing our cities. The event is well-organised. It would be great if this event takes place in other parts of the countries as well.

Jose KurianTeam Leader, CDM Smith India Pvt.Ltd.

My experience at Municipalika was excellent. Even though I came from a diverse vertical, I could understand the level of technology that is being explored globally. I am thankful to the organisers for inviting me to this event and appreciate the way they have covered this event. It would be better if they could also cover aspects related to real estate in the corporate sector.

Abhijit SarkarMRICS, Vice President and Country Head- Corporate Real Estate , Admin and Infrastructure, ShareKhan

The sessions at Municipalika are very informative. Speakers have covered a wide range of topic focusing on sustainable transport in ‘Connected Cities’ session. The organisers of Municipalika are doing a good job. I think that it is the need of the hour to focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and would like to suggest them to organize this event in these cities.

Dr. D.L.N. MurthyAdditional Chief (Transportation Planning), Transport and Communications Division, MMRDA

It is an overwhelming experience to be a part of IIPM. This is the first time that INFHRA is a partner with Municipalika, CAPEx and IIPM. The sessions organised are wonderful and huge spaces have been provided for exhibitors. I am thankful to IIPM for giving me the opportunity to moderate a session on ‘New Age Offices 2020’. And we had a wonderful interactive session with our panellists and the audience enjoyed it. I look forward to being a part of this event next year too.

Pratik VaidyaChief Council of INFHRA
