Post Repairs Update: Last month the Canteen ceiling was replaced and it is a huge improvement over the sagging mess that was there. We are still working on prepping the walls for paint. It is time to get rid of the battleship gray and faux silver metal look! During the ceiling restoration project Dave Kilpatrick replaced the damaged walk-in cooler floor with aluminum diamond deck. It took him many long hours and I am thankful for his expertise and dedication to the post. It looks great and is a lot safer than the broken ceramic tiles that were in there! These building improvement projects are expensive and demand hard work to obtain the needed funds. We were blessed with generous donations from the Post Auxiliary, a Home Depot grant and a VFW National grant. In addition, Bingo Select-7 proceeds, the basket of Cheer raffle and some smaller personal donations covered the majority of the repairs. However, future fund raising is need to replace the tattered 1970's chairs, the carpet and the 17 year old ice machine that has some Band-Aids on it. So, if you could find it in your heart to give a little more to help fund these other Post building needs, it would be greatly appreciated. One way to help, is to purchase some tickets to our upcoming Spaghetti dinner fund raiser, on October 13th. I'm Just saying! I hope a good time was had by all. I would like to thank Eileen for organizing the luncheon, and her committee everything was wonderful. Also, thank you to the Post members that helped serve, setup and clean up. We really do appreciate what you do. I would like to remind everyone that this months meeting is also our official inspection from District please try to make this one to show your support. It would be greatly appreciated. Please remember to pay your dues. We would like to be at 100%. Also, if you know of a member that has moved or passed on please let us know. The more communication we have the better. We are currently at 90.23% wahoo way to go. We are in need of cakes for bingo bake sales, please let me know if you are interested in baking or bringing in a cake to bingo. We are in the mist of selling our honor ornaments. They are available for sale week days 11- 2, and Thursday night 4-6 at Bingo. Just $5, a lot of work went into these. I would like to thank all that helped to make the ornaments, they all look great. October 13th is the Post Spaghetti dinner fundraiser, we ask that Auxiliary members please volunteer to help with the event or to bake some deserts. We also ask that you please patronize the spaghetti dinner, remember this is a fundraiser for our Post. There will also be a Chinese auction at the spaghetti dinner, this is another way our Auxiliary will be helping our veterans. Hope to see you there. Any items you would like to donate for the auction will be appreciated. Please bring them to the post prior to the event. Pat Davis will be doing a raffle at bingo on October 4th as a fun fundraiser as she does every year, please stop by and purchase a ticket. Fall conference is October 26 and 27th in Orlando. Post Repairs Update:
