INFORMATION ON THE APPLICATION FOR THE HIR POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW

1. This application form must be completed and attached with a copy of the Passport and Visa, most recent Curriculum Vitae (for foreign applicant), Account Number, copies of other relevant certificates.

2. Application should be forwarded through the Principal Investigator (PI) concerned with the form duly completed.

3. Candidate must fulfill job requirement qualifications as specified in the guideline.

ATTACHMENT 1

BRIGHT SPARKS (BS) INCENTIVE SCHEME FOR POST - DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW

1. Main Criteria (Minimum)

(1) Candidate has published at least 6 research articles in ISI ranked journals or has carried out research (for at least 5 years) in current research

(2) The age of the candidate MUST NOT EXCEED 35 years at the time of application.

2. Activities And Incentives For Bright Sparks Candidates

Candidate must meet the KPI which has been ascertained.

3. Key Performance Indicator (KPI)

(1) publish at least three research papers in ISI journals (Q1 and Q2) each year;

(2) submit at least one research paper to the ISI journal every 4 months;

(3) present at least a research paper at two conferences locally and one internationally each year;

(4) deliver at least 4 seminars at the Faculty each year;

(5) show evidence that you have tried to apply for international research grants;

(6) have research collaboration with world-renowned institutions;

(7) successfully established collaboration with a senior staff in the Faculty;

(8) supervise at least two junior staff in the Faculty in the field of advanced research;

(9) obtain positive feedback from your co-researchers, and

(10) participate in programmes determined by the Bright Sparks Unit.

4. Contract

(1) Candidate will sign an appointment contract as a Post - Doctoral Research Fellow.

(2) Candidate will be receiving the BS Incentive subject to a satisfactory progress report for the first six (6) months of appointment. This incentive is over and above the monthly emolument received.

(3) Candidate will be assessed every six (6) months on his/her progress. Should he/she fails to meet the KPI as required for a BS Post - Doctoral Research Fellow, the candidate will be terminated from the BS Incentive Scheme. However, the appointment contract will still continue until the end of the tenure.

5. Conditions On The Bright Sparks Incentive Scheme Offer

A candidate is required to carry out activities and fulfill the requirements of the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) as determined in Item no 3 and to submit a progress report every six (6) months throughout the duration of the sponsorship under this scheme.

Failure to carry out such activities and/or fulfill the KPI requirements may lead to your termination from this programme. All the incentives will be withdrawn and you are required to repay the total amount of incentives disbursed to you under this programme for a particular period that you have not performed.

If you so decide, upon whatever reason, to be terminated from this programme before you fulfill the publication requirement, you are required to repay all the Incentives disbursed to you for a particular period that you have not performed.
