What is Positive Pay
Positive Pay is a check fraud prevention
system that enables customers to review
and authorize checks being presented for
payment against their account.
– Customers will upload a list of checks written
to the bank for confirmation
– Bank will review all checks paid on an
account against the customer’s list, and report
any exceptions to the customer for a decision

Any check paid on a customer’s account
that does not match existing check issue
information will be presented to the
customer for a decision.
– Customers can choose to pay or return any
exception item
• Select pay or return and click update to make a
decision on a check

ACH Processing
• Positive Pay can be used for ACH transactions also.
• For ACH you can tailor
your exceptions.
Submit Issued Check Information
Customers will upload a file of written
checks in an agreed upon format.
– To issue check information into the system,
the customer will browse to a saved file, and
click process file.
Check issue information has to be in the
system, prior to a check paying, for
exception processing to work accurately.

Adding a Single Check
Customers can issue individual checks
without submitting a full issued check file.
– The customer will add all of the required
check information and click add check.

Void a Check
• Customers can void checks through the
positive pay system
– To void a check, the customer will search for
the specific check they wish to void. Click Find
Check.
– When stopping a check, follow current
banking procedures

ACH Positive Pay
With this product customers can take advantage of positive pay protection for ACH payments.
– Customers who wish to use ACH Positive Pay will need to establish rules for ACH payments within the system (pay all, pay none, pay credits only, etc.).
– Once rules are established the system will report any exceptions to the customer within the quick exception processing screen-slide 5
