About the Position Position purpose The Digital Literacy & Resources Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery of high quality library and information services to the community through:
• Supporting the Libraries Team in identifying, planning, developing guidelines and training staff to deliver digitalliteracy programs and activities to library customers.
• Responsible for providing digital services, including the website within the library service to ensure high qualityinformation, educational, recreational and literacy needs of the community in the Mornington Peninsula Shire(MPS).
• Responsible for supporting and monitoring of all library information systems including the library managementsystem (LMS), RFID equipment, digital information resources and devices.
Dimensions of the role This role is responsible for the following dimensions:
In colloration with the MPS Information Services (IS) Team, maintain and provide a stable LMS, RFID devicesand other digital communications for staff and customers.
Coordinator of all Library specific hardware, software and digital resources across all library locations.
Key Responsibility Areas
Digital Literacy and Services Fulfill the objectives of the MPS and Library Services in accordance with plans, policies, procedures and
guidelines.
Coordinate digital content on all library platforms in liaison with library teams, such as Library Resources &Information Coordinator (LRIC), Library Programs & Partnership Coordinator (LPPC), Library SystemsSupport Officer and the MPS Communications and IS Teams.
Develop and maintain the ongoing operation of the Library’s website in coordination with the MPSCommunications Team and LPPC.
Update and maintain current web technologies software, including the online catalogue and eResources toenhance content and enable user content management.
Develop and maintain ongoing operation of all library digital platforms and devices, including basic coding androbotic devices.
In conjunction with the LPPC and team members, develop training resources, including program kits andlesson plans for in-house digital literacy services and programs for the community.
Provide ‘train the trainer’ sessions for staff to build their capacity in the delivery of digital literacy programs.

Assist library staff when required to deliver programs to customers and the community.
Information and Resources Support
In collaboration with the LRIC and the MPS ISTeam , oversee the ongoing operation and administrationfunctions of the LMS, and associated systems, such as the online catalogue, RFID hardware and software.
Assist with and perform day to day activities as they relate to the operations of the LMS, RFID and other digitalresources, including managing IT requests.
Provide administration and reporting functions for the LMS, RFID and other systems.
Provide user support for staff and customers for specific library applications and digital resources.
Identify training requirements and provide prompt, relevant communications, coaching and training to staff andusers on library specific applications, including maintaining documentation and procedures.
Identify and recommend emerging technologies critical to the design and delivery of responsive libraryinformation services.
Policy Planning and Development
Review existing work processes to analyse and implement workflow improvements.
Plan, develop and implement new technologies under the supervision of the LRIC that meet Library staff andcustomer needs.
Contribute to Library’s forward planning and processes in relation to digital literacy and technologies.
Develop library technology specific procedures and promote these to both staff and community.
Understand the Shire’s IS Strategic Plan and incorporate guidelines in the coordination of library informationservices.
Build and maintain awareness of current issues and technology trends in the provision of library services inorder to identify opportunities and service gaps for the library service and provide recommendations to thelibrary leadership team.
People and Team
Participate in internal and external user group activities to investigate emerging technologies and/or alternativeapproaches to library digital applications and technologies.
Participate in the Library Resources & Information Team projects, in their design and implementation.
Develop high level partnerships with suppliers and Shire Departments to ensure quality customer service.
Physical Requirements of the Role
Substantial manual handling is an inherent physical requirement of working in this role. The position may require:
Significant periods of standing. Sustained hours of movement, including lifting, bending, squatting, pushing, carrying and stretching. Use of computers and office equipment including scanning library materials.
