EVOLUTIVE MEANSOn Adaptation and Selection in Architectural Design
An Exhibition of the Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture
Curators: Chandler Ahrens(OSA) , Axel Schmitzberger and Michael Wen Su
“The exhibit ion is part of the ACADIA 2010 Conference t i t led LIFE in: formation On Responsive and Variat ion in Architecture . . . Evolutive Means: On Adaptation and Select ion in Architectural Design seeks to augment Li fe in: formation, by charting the course of this novel design territory with an exhibit ion of the narrative histories of projects , which were dist inguished more by the generative , i terative , or otherwise evo-lutive processes of their design, real izat ion, or fabrication than by any f inal product . The exhibit ion i tsel f adopts the fundamental principles of evolutive design processes to expose the means by which sel f-orga-nizing mechanisms develop choices or select ion criteria . I t maps this part icular territory through i ts own evolutive strategies of design, or-ganization and presentation. “ - Acadia Information Poster
