    MY NAME ISERNESTOHINOJOSARUIZ IM 23 YEARS OLD > I WAS BORN IN TOLUCA, A town NEXT TO MEXICO CITY. > AMONG THE MANY THINGS I GOT INVOLVED IN dURING MY EARLY YEARs, the one that stuck in me like a curse was fashion making. i was a ballet dancer from 6 to 12 years old, painter and illustrator from 11 years old when finished my first art course. > I COME FROM 4 GENERATIONS OF TAILORS IN MEXICO > SO I GREW UP IN A PLACE FILLED WITH FABRICS AND MATERIALS treated like precious objetcs. I GOT THE OPPORTUNITY OF LEARNING FROM MY GRANDFATHER THE CRAFTS OF TAILORING AND FROM A VERY YOUNG AGE I WAS ALREADY MAKING TAILORED WOMENSWEAR. THEN IT CAME FUR.

    1 year before finishing my degree i moved to london to continue my formal studies in fashion design at istituto marangoni > > during my second year i won 2nd prize in the bfta national competition which brought me a lot closer to my fur pas-sion. after finishing that 2nd year i went back to mexico to apply for a degree validation and fin-ish my industrial design studies.

    In my third year at marangoni i got involved more in graphic design and illustration for magazines, as well as fur- haute couture garments. > so far i managed to deliver bespoke orders by private cli-ents as well as other graphic design competitions.

    TheFeatheredDragonInspiration

    Quetzalcoatl, the Aztec God represented as a feathered snake, was the main inspiration of it.Moving a bit too far from it, searching for a twist of something less literal of the Aztec God, got at-tracted by Japanese Dragon festivals.

    The features of the figure are based on the dragon form, giving it a oriental feeling. Although taking it to a much modern sense portraying a woman turning into a Feathered Dragon.

    The feathers would be the focus point on this project, as implies the excellence of leather treatment by the Fendi artisans.Combining brilliant colours with stricking rain of leather feathers.

    Construction

    The mannequin will be extended to a dragon head. This will be possible with manipulated pour-polyurethanes and acrylic coatings to give it a impecable finishing to show to the customers of the store while the final figure is constructed.

    The head of the dragon will consist of layered blocks and rolls of multicolour leather. Those blocks and rolls will be glued/ stitched to the plastic struc-ture.Each feather will consist of multicolour layers of hand stitched leather stripes. Then the feathers will be glued/ stitched onto the mannequin, from bottom to top.

    Preparation

    The mannequin construction will take about a month to prepare and finish. Preventing the material treatment, construction and finishings.In order to show excellent results and be prepared for any malfunction, would be useful to discuss with the artisan the time and finishing of the leather feath-ers.

    Also, some special lighting would be used in the show room. This would be arranged with the store team for installation options, although the electric device will be atached to the understructure and only a safe AC/DC connection would be required.
