INTRODUCTION

Page 3: Portfolio Monica Santosadjaja

My passion for architectural design started at an early age. I am always interested in painting and art and charmed with color and landscapes. As an extremely driven and dedicated young professional with a passion for design, I plan on pursuing a Bachelors degree in Interior Design, followed by a career in the commercial part of the industry for a year or two before pursuing my Masters degree in Urban Design. Therefore I gradually harnessed my talents by learning about color scheme, perspective drawing, as well as supporting computer programs.

Aside from my main interests in Interior and Architectural Design, my specialties include various medias in expressing traditional arts such as watercolor, acrylic, crayon, pencil, marker, pen, and have experience in collage, papier-mâché, soft pastel and oil-painting. My specialty is realism, impressionism, and caricature. However I am also keen with other kinds of style like fauve, dada and surreal. Furthermore, I am able to use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Dreamweaver, and am currently learning how to use a tablet, AutoCAD and Google Sketch.

My philosophy of design is to create spaces that enhances the natural environment while also adapting to the changing needs/functionality over time. Creativity, curiosity and my enthusiasm of learning are values that are very important to me. I strongly believe in an intelligent and sophisticated simplicity of style that embraces diversity and artistically integrated craftsmanship and personality. Nevertheless, I thrive on the constant evolution of the industry, and am willing to adapt and acquire the skill sets required to succeed in any academic and professional environment.
