Concerning my job experience, I've

been able to develop in several working

areas, from Architectural contest

through the University, to working in an

architecture office. These experiences

have taken me to understand that my

capacities have improved an for those

reasons I can approach life with an

architectural point of view.

Proyect: sustainable growth and

reforestation in Rapa Nui

Programa: vivienda, agricultura y

turismo

Place: Eastern Island

Process: This is the result of a

national contest in which the

university invite us to be in. Rapa Nui is an island with an unique historical and

cultural tradition , with a big development in rock sculptures which

represents their ancestors. , the “ Moais”. However, the constructions of these big pieces resulted in a extreme

deforestation of the forest and all wildlife is extinct .Because of its image

and also because it is an island made us realize we had to pursue a sustainable and logic use of the territory, from the

landscape relation with it ( including the plants and trees as a regrowth tool to

the island it self) to the creation of a logic cropping system that we could model

and use to generate ecologic roads and corridors.

Because of the increasing interest of

tourist, we have observed an increased growth in moving population through

time. Likewise, we can see how the population of the island itself has been

increasing too, hence an urban planning is imperative, one that adjust to the

island´s needs and the tourist population, with both working and

developing as a potential economic developer.

The project is focused with different

approaches in an area using as a morphologic design tool structural

typologies that , altogether connected one to another form the house living

areas and connections between them. Each of these areas are responsible of

creating a self-sustainable cropping system that is subjugated to the

morphologic design of one single architectural cell unit, and without

forgetting the use of the land soil to each crop typology.

As a result of these logic approach of

design and planning , we where able to generate two types of houses, one for

the local user, and another for the tourist as a guest of the local families.

Project: Under shelter swimming center

in Valdivia

Program: Rowboat and swimming

center, public pools, and wetlands

conservation areas.

Locationr: Valdivia, XIV Región de Los

Rios, Chile

Process: This project is created as part

of the participation that Universidad

Central de Chile school of Architecture

had in the contest of IV concurso en

madera CTT-CORMA 2009, which

proposed the construction of a

swimming center and rowing club

located in Valdivia City, Chile.

The proposal has three main users,

sportmen and women, tourists and local

people. Which we can define because

of the urban limits they have, this is the

river, important element of this city.

Considering that nowadays Valdivia is

presented as the capital of the new Los

Rios region, we use this information

and conclude that making this project

will allow us to open it to the whole

region and for that reason the same

center must have a five thousand

people capacity.

Following this framework the work

group proposes the following question,

How would we be able to inform people

about water sports?

This generates a proposal which

includes people gathering together

round water sports. To achive this we

suggest the building of public swimming

pools surrounding.

This project also would like to

acknowledge the old town historical

backgound of the city, generating the

action of observing and being observe,

proposing an improvement in the

landscape around both borders of the

river.

At the same time the project includes as

a landscape and living proposal the

existing wetlands at the edge of the city

river.

The search for the material was

generated by choosing one that

could adapt and be programed.

The result of this research

created a system in where its

components adapt with each

other

«a través de la variación de sus ángulos de giro y la variación en el

largo de su base. El resultado formologico nos llevo a entender» The main objective of the curve

is to keep along the continuity

and at the same time be a

structural element of the system.

Due to that along the research

we could prove all of this. For

this same reason we could

also prove that using the curve

system makes this an

selfrelianse structure. (showned

Proyect: conformación del corredor sur

de providencia como eje estructurador

intercomunal.

Program: multifamiliar housing,

commerce, education and cultura.

Place: South east limits of Providencia

Zone, Santiag. This area is constantly

changing because of

the building trades.

Process: The urban piece of the

investigation it´s define as an isolated

part of the zone previously

mentioned.This situation is given

because of the structure of the zone

itself, living it secluded from

the core of it and also because of the

daily high flow of people.

This area has comercial spaces and

different means of transportation to its

borders.

The intervention point is in between

Chile-España and Jaime Guzman

streets having as a reference the

nearness of La Catolica University

campus .At this exact intersection we

have the ending and starting of two

different zones Providencia and

Ñuñoa, which gives us two different

urban plan, so you can find buildings

up to ten floors facing others from one

or two floors.

How?

1.Enlarge Jaime Guzman street up to

14 mts.having four tracks for cars.

3.Moving the street towards Ñuñoas´s

street in order to have a wider lengt, so

it is posible to build a pedestrain

walking area.

5.Regain green areas to give a

different aspect to the street.

Project: Sustainable growing and

development in the Island of

Rapa Nui

Program: Homes, agriculture and

tourism

Paced in: Rapa Nui Island

In this second stage the

improving and strengthening of

the project was to emphasize in

terms of the development of its

parts ( constructive elements as

well as in architectural logic).

Without leaving behind the work

done in the BIENAL contest,

CLEFA made us entered in an in-

depth analysis of the element

itself as a programmatic cell that

mutes into a skin that creates and

flow through the spaces in the

project as an element in the

immediate interaction with the

user. This essential and vital cell

was not totally develop in the

previews contest (BIENAL), but in

CLEFA we where able to do so,

together with a more finished and

developed version of the other

aspects of the project, altogether

form a low-tech approach and a

logic sustainability applied to

social development and

repercussion, making possible to

use local hand labor within the

different constructions methods in

each phase.

indispensable, anteriormente no pudo acabarse

proyecto.

Proyect: Codelco headquartesr

division El

Teniente,(corporacion del

cobre)

Program: office, commerce and

services.

Place: Rancagua, VI Región,

Chile, next to down town from

Rancagua, where you can find

the area that Codelco uses for

stocking and distributing of

copper.

Process:The company´s idea is

to put together the

administrative area and the

operational area

sharing a multifuctional building,

trying to give a better life quality

for all the workers that now

work there. Another reason is

because of the many

desseases that they face

because of the work

and work place.

During the first stages of the

Project a master plan was built,

having the rail ways as a main

focus in the development of the

proyect since they represent an

important part of the city and

also as divider of it.

For this reason the proyect we

proposed as an urban suture,

giving value this intermediate

space, connecting some

interesting parts, linked to the

city and also joining trough this

corridor programático.

From the beginning, in terms of

the personal development, we

looked to work with the

industrial image that Codelco

has. And on the other hand also

integrating the city itself by the

connection of

public spaces. This way the

building creates spaces that

allows people to use them.

“El proyecto presenta una

composición escalar del

complejo, que busca dialogar y

proponer una

nueva escala de intervención”
