  • The project was created for a major eyewear retailer and was designed for Spring of 2015. Inspiration for our eyewear collection is shown above. We first started with a customer analysis and then researched and developed our inspiration, travel in New Zealand. Picking an area of the world and exploring the culture and traditions led us to the jewel tone color palette and design elements of our collection.

    Trend Inspiration: Wanderlust

    Pulling inspiration from the richness of color and customs found in New Zealands natural landscape, THIRD CULTURE weaves a sense of travel and discovery into eyewear for everyday. Translating traditional artwork into forms for frames, this collection merges a contemporary vibe with ritual and storytelling.

    These eyewear pieces were inspired by the beauty and culture of New Zealand. Elements of design were taken from our editorial pieces (at the top) to create an 18 piececommercial collection. Our group (Allison Latessa, Amy Wells, Elise Devery, Sam Elsbrook, Lindsey Freson, and myself) was the winning team to have our collection made for stores of a major eyewear retailer for Spring of 2015.

  • The first aspect of this project involved researching trends for Spring/ Summer 2014. I came upon the mega trend Eden and was inspired by the key colors and how they looked toward Fauvism art for inspiration. Next, I evolved my consumer and decided to bring attention to the destruction of the rainforest through colors and intricate patterns. With Fauvism art as the basis for my collection and the bright colors this style of art is known for, emotion is provoked through color.

    Concept: Destruction in the Rainforest

    Every year an area of rainforest the size of New Jersey is cut down and destroyed. The plants and animals that used to live in these forests either die or must find a new forest to call their home.

    Inspiration: Fauvism

    Fauvists used exaggerated colors when painting subjects. In fact, color was the most important aspect of a Fauvist painting. Resulting in blocks and dashes of colors not seen in nature, jutaposed with other unnatural colors in a frenzy of emotion.

    Andi, 22, has a passion for unique and bold things. She will be traveling to Africa for her senior thesis and is excited for the adventures to come.

    Rainforest RealityCAD PRINT DESIGN

  • The first step to developing my prints involved the utilization of different types of media such as: acrylic paint, line drawings, negative space drawings, and photos from the Krohn Conservatory.

  • This shows the repeats of my prints made in the Kaledo Print software. The close up of each print shows how my mixed media was used in the creation of the prints. I also provided a complimentary weave that could be used along with the print.

  • Above is a part of the final collection I created along with the corresponding flats. The croquis and technical flats were created and filled in with Adobe Illustrator.

  • I was inspired to create a home dcor collection that brought awareness to the amount of waste in our landfills and how we can positively impact this problem through design.

This collection will bring awareness to this problem by turning waste into the most beautiful home pieces. As the consumer embraces the piece in their home, each tag shows information about the history of what the product was and its contribution to eliminating waste in our society today.

    A new city opens the door to endless possibilities. Fresh out of school, she is excited to finally have her own place, but finding the perfect location and decorating from scratch can be intimidating. Conscious of her carbon footprint, she shops at thrift stores to reduce her impact on the environment. She is a free spirit, she loves to be spontaneous and entertaining her friends at home as often as possible. Trying new recipes & cocktails with friends is her favorite thing to do on the weekend. She is excited for the journey to come and finally being able to settle down in a place she can call her home.

  • These are the home decor products I made from common household waste. By creating bold statement pieces, these objects are intended to bring awareness to the issues that we face in our society today.

  • For this project, I had to pick a brand and create a diffusion line; keeping the essence of the brand, while putting my own twist on it. Seeing something that was missing in the market of wedding dresses, I chose Anthropologie for my extension.

    This collection will allow the bride to customize her own wedding dress & incorporate her grandmother or mothers dress into their own.

  • The pictures are of my great grandmother, grandmother, & mother. I found inspiration from each of their weddings and the eras in which they were. Since a wedding is so personal, my concept for this collection was to give the bride an option to combine pieces of a vintage dress into her own wedding dress.

  • For this project, the assignment was to find a fashion illustrator and try to mimic their style. For mine I chose Naja Hanson-Conrad. My goal was to capture how playful and edgy her work is.

  • The first drawings on the left are my striped fabric drawings. This was a study of light and how it reflects off of the fabric. The skull drawing is a still life that involved light and lookingat color differently. The wine glass was a study about reflection and shadow. The cast eye was about creating something to appear three-dimensional. The bottom right fabric drawing is a master copy based off of Leonardo Da Vinci.
