WHERE DO I CAST

MY VOTE?

The crowdsourcing

In December, 2009, we decided to localize

all polling stations in France to make the

Facebook app on the previous slide.

We soon realized that the data provided by the local

administrations wasn‟t machine-readable at all.

We first tried to capture the missing data points

ourselves by hand, but the task was daunting.

Instead, we build a basic tool so that web-users

could help us capture data.

They did so beyond our expectations, as more than

300 persons captured over 12,700 polling stations

addresses. In the end, we were able to localize 93%

of all polling stations.

In Kabul’s maze

RFI realized that it spent lots of time and

efforts into sending journalists abroad

who came back with 20-minute audio

reports. How could they enhance this

content on the web?

OWNI solved the problem by producing

lightweight, multimedia modules that

reassemble the audio and the pictures

taken by the journalist. Working with him

or her, we produce such online reports

every other week.

SIDA: WHERE TO GET

With this app that aims at listing all testing
