Bach at the Berlin Wannsee

As an intern at Grollmitz-Zappe-Architects I got the chance to be the leading interior designer of a private project. My job was to design the architec-ture and interior of a bach at Wannsee, a lake near Berlin. This included preparing the building application. I was also responsible for presenting this to the client.

Headquarters of 81hours and Dear Cashmere

`Interior Design meets Fashion.´ That is what happened in Hessen´s capital Frankfurt. Two fashion brand agencies have chosen an old theater as their new company building and I had the joy to do the planning and designing of their brandnew head-quarters. Guided by the brief of my client and the understanding of their workflow, I first gave structure to the open space of the two story building. Followed by the planning of fittings as the stair case, separating glass walls and the interior design for the kitchen, showroom, toilettes, meeting room, office spaces and executive´s offices, including a lighting concept for all rooms.

Private home alteration

This is one of my first projects as head of design at RahnLiving. The clients challenge was to renovate the whole interior of an older house. Starting from initial inception I also proved my ability to design and construct furniture and installations in kitchen, bathroom, living room and hallway. This involved remodelling of the existing rooms structure, developing new lighting concepts and negotiating with workers. Good time management was a key skill for this project.

new Public Seating

The city of Weidenberg challenged a group of stu-dents to create new public seating. I designed a bench that fits into nature and city life. As the winner of this contest, I was not only responsible for the design but also the material management, construction and shipping of the finished product to its final location. The bench was constructed using a zinc coated steel framework, covered with a sythentic woven fabric.

Typography, CI and passion

For me graphic design and interior design are the identification of a company or person. This is why I also enjoy creating graphical works as books, broschures, websites, business cards etc. using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

Project documentation

Marketing is in the eye of the beholder. Therefore a very important part of marketing is to have the right photo-graphic material to hit the dient right in the heart. Gärtner hires photographers to show the range of projects. My role included organising the photo shoots by establishing dates, comunicating with clients and photographers, clarifying the rights of use and to oversee the photo shoots to make sure the company CI is kept.
