INSPIRATION

The aim of this project is to design a high

speed train that links Australian cities together,

especially the major cities like Melbourne and

Sydney.

It is estimated that about 80% of Australia’s

population lives in coastal areas. Therefore, a lot of  inspiration was drawn from

the ocean. Wavy and uid shapes as a result

became

essential characteristics of the design

language. However the intention is not only

creating a train with uid and wavy character

lines and features, but is to create harmony

between all of the little details, the train as

a whole, the context, Australian nature and

coasts, by creating a design philosophy that

brings everthing together, by harmonizing every aspect. Wavy, ripply, uidity, are all

characteristics and keywords that create a

frame for the design, a frame to work within.

airports being busy and far from city

This project is using the famous watchmaker Hublot, as a

source of inspiration for designing the interior of a

hydrofoil. To successfully implement the design

ideology and philosophy of a watch like Hublot into the

interior of a vehicle, the characteristics of these watches

need to be used and applied to the design of the interior.

Basically, what is more signicant here is the designphilosophy rather than the design language, or the house

style of Hublot brand, since design philosophy connects

two totally different products together better than

design language, it is also more sustainable and

timeless, since it is not about trend, it is about an idea.

Therefore characteristics such as mechanical movement,

structure, rigidity, exterior and interior interlock  and user

centered are driven from it. Hublot is also

sponsoring Formula 1 racing events, taking inuence from

exotic cars like Ferrari. Having this much of racing and

automotive culture surrounding this brand, makes

Formula 1 and exotic cars an inspiration to this project.

PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION

HOW to improve

motorcycling

backpacks?

Current motorcycling backpacks

lack features that have led them to

not work properly, t or look right

on a motorcyclist. Most backpacks

lack visual features to

compliment exotic and sporty

bikes. They are not fully

waterproof and aerodynamic

, and move from side to side too

much during turns. Strapping

adjustments are troublesome, look

complex and hang from thebackback too much, apping

around at high speeds. This project

aims to resolve these issues, while

providing an aesthetically pleasing

product, making the backpack an

extension of the motorcyclist.

The inspiration to design a motorcycling

backpack came from the design

language and characteristics of sporty

and rugged  tranportation products.

The goal for this project is to create a

backpack with smooth surfaces and

curvatures and dened strong lines,

something to resemble parts ofmotorcycle, like gas tank  for example.

Also, the shape has to look robust and

strong, therefore the design has to look

solid, athletic, by taking inspiration

from heavy trucks and body armors.
