ABOUT ME

My name is Matt Wiseman and I am a student at Harding University. I ama person who enjoys humor and music while working and brings lots of ideas to every project. I am someone who will always try to help to the best of my abilities with any communication problem. I believe that my drawing and ideation skills are the strongest qualities that I bring with me as well as the ability to lead others. I am a quieter person at first but once you get to know me you will know that I am just awesome. My friends consider me unique and very loyal which I accept gratefully. Designing is what I’ve found that I love and I am always wanting to know more about it and am willing to talk about what I have found with others and the impact it has on designers and the public. I am a loveable and hard working guy and you should give me the chance to prove that to you.

The Collierville Police had desperate need of design work. Many of their documents and logos were old and created by people who, lets say, didn’t have that spark of inspiration. The S.W.A.T. needed a logo to go withtheir patch and on the wall of thier office area. The detectives needed alogo that didn’t say C.S.I. but needed to convey what they did. Because of budget issues they needed to be in mostly black and white.

BRANDING

Old Factory is a scented clothing storethat a partner and I hadto create the branding for. Only one color wasused for the whole project while we let thetexture of the papersand materials being used to help speak forour brand. Thankfullymy partner and I got along and we did notwant to kill each other by the time we were finished.

This magazinelayout is about KingArthur and Lancelotand their troubles ifthey lived in today’sworld and they werefollowed by the mediaand had their troublesbroadcasted to theworld.

Hope is a project from a ‘Fall From Grace’ theme. I wantedto show the idea that hope is here but it can be difficult to see. This was taken in a bathtub filled with water and grape juice and a10 second exposure.

This is a winery in northern California where my sister wasmarried in September 2010. This is a shot of the dance floor andguest tables.

PRINT

For a print-making project I decided to make an itaglio print based on the Bauhaus movement. This printwas created using two plates, one that uses all aquatintand another that has just line etchings and embossed type.

This print is a wood cut using four colors, one of thembeing a gradient. The title for it is“Life and Light”. The inspirationfor this piece comes from the letter of John where he talks about the Word being life and light.

This print is poking some fun at my print making professor.He thought we should be shot fornot knowing a few designer termsand he loved to lecture us aboutart history. For the final we could make whatever we wantedso I struck back. Thankfully helaughed at it so I didn’t fail. Thisprint was created using linoleumwhere I carved out the letterforms.
