System Design

Brief of the project: To design the promotional items for the product where children are one of the mail consumers.

The organization studies for system design is a Non Governmental Organization, Gramshree.

The organization endeavours to raise the social status of women from disadvantaged backgrounds and artisans

through income generation activities.

My context was to add a new dimention to toys and games by making them a marketing tool. The inspiration comes from the“Happy meal”concept by McDonalds.

Children are the future customes and have indirect affect on the purchase made by parents. This is a challenging

area to work upon.

Other promotional items made for the NGO. Cool badges and key holders.

All of these products are the characters from

Panchatantra stories.

(Panchatantra is an inter-woven series of colourful fables, many of which involve animals exhibiting animal stereotypes. All the stories have moral values teaching the way of life.)

Research Process

Charts prepared for anysyses and opportunity mapping

projects. The theories include:

Freud’s Theory of Psychosexual DevelopmentKohlberg’s Theory of Moral Development

Vygotsky: social constructivism and languageAbraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs

and many more such theories are studies and visits were made to the NGOs working for the children with special needs and other schools to understand their methods of

teaching the children.

The game is based on the folk story of a farmer and his daughter who is a mice. He is a worried man looking for a suitable groom. Play experience makes the player
