Intro to Architectural Drawings (ARCH 210)

Instructor - Thomas Mendezh

Objective: to continue practicing drawing skills and at the same time learning the orthographic views which enable one to understand the object in full.

FUTURE

Page 9: Portfolio 290

6

Goal: Students become aware of how a “Photo-real” painting can also be an abstract composition. They strive to match local color, emulate actual texture and master perspective drawing at a micro scale.

Micro Studies

7

Objective: To build upon prior knowledge and skills and explore formthrough actions that dissect, merge and organize.

Nason House & “The Latin Cousin” (At NMSU)•Latin America •Conceptualize •Problem Solve •Design

Objective: Based on research of our country, we designed a Renovation/extension of Nason house considering the overall site and understanding metro-surveying. At that time CLAS (Latin American Studies) wanted to create a more substantial meeting place/presentation space and most importantly expand their studies to accommodate their proposed Master’s program in Latin American Studies.

Architectural Design Studio 2

Instructor - Julia Kirton

Objective: To produce a college which incorporates the life and work of the architect of study. Considering to explain the purpose of each object drawn.

Page 18: Portfolio 290

15

Objective: Using the background information already gathered in our architect of study, as well as the final presentation collages and the ar-chitecturally drafted drawing; we generated a program that consisted of a cube 25’X25’X25’, located at a four cross intersection in the manner of the architect we were given, using their philosophy and theoretical practices to influence the design process and final modeland drawings of the “Dwelling”.

Destination Habitat “Response to Site: Location, Terrain, Green Design, Micro-Climate, Ecosystems”

Objective: Rural Architecture Design to design a habitat of o more than 96 sq. ft. that will promote the recharging of the mind, body and soul; A place of rest and relaxation that allows campers to rejuvenate overnight for the day ahead. We strongly considered the connection with the land, we also considered the biological cues; the vegetation, animals and organisms of the land and the objects artifacts found there in. Sustainability was also a must.
