The image accompanies us since the beginning of human civilization. It has traveled, and on that journey has mutated its understanding. Some cultures

have attributed negative connotations to it such as lie, double or falsehood; others, more favorable connotations, such as idol or icon. But regardless all

these, there has always been an enchantment for it; the image as a carrier of history, knowledge and violence, as a symbol of domination and

empowerment.

With the proliferation of the photographic and audiovisual image through the screens, the proliferation of public figures, celebrities and idols also

emerged; the human being as a product, claiming to be consumed and discarded. In our contemporary society in which we worship the body and health,

the youth and beauty, we build myths based on the access we have to these new imaginaries, fighting to transcend the time and space that fall on our

bodies and subjectivities.

Plastic and unfinished; we dress with artificial skins, we put on masks, we profess blind faith to our technological extensions. The screens and the

images we see through them, are and make us doctors, shamans, philosophers and rockstars. We redesign ourselves daily, based on particular

interests that give us the illusion of upward mobility and freedom of decision/action, that temporarily calm the anguish of not standing out from the

masses.

In this current cosmovision, in which we cease to be obedient and controlled to be flexible and anxious, we increasingly feel that our organic qualities are

constraint we have to be overcome to achieve a biological utopia that brings us closer to a kind of post-organic human being, called into question the

problematic relationship we have with our own nature. We are the children of Faust and Narcissus, of Frankenstein and Dracula; anonymous and wild

creatures seeking to be worshiped to validate our existence within a civilized virtual world.
