Transcript of Portfolio 2 Postgraduate Certificate in Secondary Art & Design Education
Post Graduate Certificate in Secondary Art and Design
Education
This is a portfolio of a selection of
literature ,projects and an Exhibition I organised
while studying and teaching during my PGCE
Most of my investigations look at how art has been taught in schools as if it has been created in a
vaccum. I highlight that It usually reflects what is going on elsewhere in a culture and that it reflects all
‘life’ subjects.
Arranging, organising, curating an exhibition of year 7 ( age 12) students work at Pitzhanger Gallery- Ealing
The artists have been set into a dialogue & contextthrough discussions and annotating tasks,
while relating the theme to the pupils interests( Nature, insects, technology, cars, aeroplanes)

The workshop was a great success; the pupils were engaged and enthusiasticabout learning about and responding to the art pieces. The booklets gave them something to refer to and the fact that their responses would be exhibited.
