Assignment/Activity Title—Inspirations Script Year— Freshman Skill—Research, Writing, Creative Portfolio Category— Critical Reasoning When I first came into the CAP program I expected to write more essays than I would in college, and know more about George Washington than he knew himself, however, I never expected that I would ever be writing a play on chivalry, and sexism. Throughout my CAP career I have performed in more plays than I am comfortable to admit, and I have now written my own play after many days of research. I picked to put my play script in the critical reasoning category because I truly believe that it was the first time I had ever researched and written about chivalry. This assignment might not have the best reaction to the public, as it touches on some sensitive topics in many relationships, however, my group and I were just trying to bring the whole issue to light, and leave out personal opinions. I had no prior knowledge to playwriting before this assignment as the only plays I ever went to see were mandatory to the program, however, it was an assignment that was easy to write, and it was just like creative story writing. Although I do not expect to become a play write, the idea has popped into my head from time to time after this assignment. This assignment helps emphasize my strengths, that I am better at creative writing than formal writing. This project helped me go out of my comfort zone and try something new, that I actually enjoyed
