Steering 48-13 Power steering belt, replacing 48 Power steering belt, replacing NOTE– • Power steering belt replacement can be completed with engine in vehicle. Pictures show engine out of car. Remove engine air filter box and intake housing assembly from passenger side of engine. See 24 Fuel injection. Support vehicle and remove right rear wheel and inner fender liner. WARNING— • Make sure vehicle is stable and well supported at all times. Use a professional automotive lift or jack stands. Place jack stands underneath structural chassis points, not underneath suspension parts. A floor jack is not adequate support. Remove power steering pump cover fasteners (arrows), then remove cover. Remove bolts (A) from upper sprocket. Pull off sprocket together with belt in direction of arrow. Installation is reverse of removal. Note the following: • Ensure lettering on upper gear wheel is facing away from power steering pump (towards front of car). • There is no tension adjustment on power steering belt. • Ensure belt is properly seated on sprockets

Power steering belt, replacing

NOTE–

• Power steering belt replacement can be completed with engine in vehicle. Pictures show engine out of car.

– Remove engine air filter box and intake housing assembly from passenger side of engine. See 24 Fuel injection.

Remove power steering pump cover fasteners (arrows), then remove cover.

Remove bolts (A) from upper sprocket.
