The Population
Group of 20-25 individuals who visit a local church’s “Kindness Ministry” on a weekly basis to obtain groceries and other necessities.The Kindness Ministry began in 2011 at a local church in Eclectic, AL. Once a week, individuals go pick up groceries and other necessities (soap, toothpaste, etc.) for free.

Population Goal
To assess the population’s educational level and how it influences their overall health by participating in group discussions, while educating them on health prevention and promotion strategies regarding diet and exercise.

To perform an appropriate focused assessment in order to identify the population’s overall health.To identify their education level and readiness to learn, while providing education that meets their level of comprehension.

To educate them on health prevention and promotion using both printed handouts and technology through a PowerPoint presentation, as they demonstrate what they have learned through guided discussions and communicating understanding.
