EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The project work is pursued as a part of MBA summer training at IFTM
University, Moradabad. It is undertaken as a traineeship at Reliance Securities Ltd. The
project is done under expert supervision and guidance of Mr. Rachit Agarwal (Center
Manager Reliance securities Ltd ).
One of the many things people always want to know about the stock market is, "How do I
make money investing?" There are many different approaches; two basic methods are
classified as either fundamental analysis or technical analysis. Fundamental analysis
refers to analyzing companies by their financial statements found in SEC Filings,
business trends, general economic conditions, etc. Technical analysis studies price actions
in markets through the use of charts and quantitative techniques to attempt to forecast
price trends regardless of the company's financial prospects. One example of a technical
strategy is the Trend following method, used by John W. Henry and Ed Seykota, which
uses price patterns, utilizes strict money management and is also rooted in risk control
and diversification.
Additionally, many choose to invest via the index method. In this method, one holds a
weighted or unweighted portfolio consisting of the entire stock market or some segment
of the stock market (such as the S&P 500 or Wilshire 5000). The principal aim of thisstrategy is to maximize diversification, minimize taxes from too frequent trading, and ride
the general trend of the stock market (which, in the U.S., has averaged nearly 10%/year,
compounded annually, since World War II).
Finally, one may trade based on inside information, which is known as insider trading.
To best monitor your investments
Examine carefully and promptly any written confirmations of trades that you receive from
your broker, as well as all periodic account statements. Make sure each trade was
completed in accordance with your instructions. And check to see how much commission
you were charged, to make sure it is in line with what you were led to believe you would
pay. If commission rates are to be increased, or if charges such as custodial fees are to be
imposed, you should be informed in advance.
If securities are held for you in street name, you may request that dividends or interest
payments be forwarded to you or put into an interest-bearing account, if available, as soon
as they are received, rather than at the end of the month or after some other lengthy period
of time.

Periodically, ask yourself the following questions about your investment:
Is this investment performing as I was told it would?
How much money will I get if I sell it today?
How much am I paying in commissions or fees?
Have my investment goals changed? If so, is the investment still suitable?
