Glamourous queen Poonam pandey began her career as a model.[6] She became one of the Top

eight contestants of Gladrags - 2010, and appeared on the cover page of the fashion magazine.[7]

in Kingfisher Calendar 2012. She rose to media spotlight when she promised to strip for the Indian

relationship with one of her students. While Rediff stated that she "excels as a seductress" in the

role,[14] the Mumbai Mirror stated she "does not play seductresses but a proper, responsible drama

teacher" and that "Pandey makes an effort but isn't quite there".[15] The posters for the film, which

featured her "clad in nothing, but two placards tactfully placed to cover her body", angered people

and a group of protestors tore the posters and set them on fire on 20 July 2013 in Mumbai.[16] The

general secretary of Shiv Sena Chitrapat has objected to Pandey's skin showing in the

advertisements, saying, "We find the poster highly vulgar and derogatory and won't allow such

hoardings."[17] In March, 2014, she has signed a film which will be directed by Sameer Sharma.[18]

She has signed to star in the planned sequel, Nasha-2 as Anita.
