For a quarter century, this event has provided exemplaryOhio State graduating seniors with the opportunity to share their creativeideas and innovative research with the campus community. It is a privilege toshowcase achievements and support their efforts to build a better tomorrow. As our university celebrates 150 years of excellence and impact, we remaincommitted to our land-grant mission of providing a quality education andilluminating a pathway to learning and discovery. This legacy continues togrow and thrive thanks to our talented students who are presenting at thisforum. Dear Fellow Buckeyes, This is a very special occasion—the 25th ANNIVERSARY of THE DENMANUNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH FORUM! The Denman Forum brings togetherthe best students and puts a spotlight on their talents and abilities. It is the mostsignificant means through which our University encourages and recognizes high-quality undergraduate research. The passion, perseverance and energy of these high-ability students is displayed intheir Forum oral and poster presentations. Through their diligent research efforts,combined with their impressive findings, have resulted in the Forum being woveninto the academic fabric of the University—a truly wonderful achievement. In celebration of this wonderful achievement, we need to thank and congratulateevery University individual involved from its inception to the present. All canproudly boast of having 10,000 plus, highly-gifted student participants, to date. That’s impressive! On behalf of the Office of Student Academic Success, I am delighted to welcome you to the25th Annual Richard J. and Martha D. Denman Undergraduate Research Forum. TheDenman fosters the engagement of our undergraduate students in the important process ofdiscovering new knowledge. It provides graduating seniors a capstone experience in whichthey are able to showcase their research and accomplishments as scholars and individuals.
I would like to thank the many people who have contributed to the success of this veryspecial Denman Forum. This includes the sponsors whose contributions play such a key rolein supporting this important event. I would also like to recognize the faculty members whoworked with the student presenters. As research mentors, they offered expertise, guidanceand encouragement, and are thus integral to the success of the event.
