Intranet is network that is quite similar to internet network. Intranet network may bechallenging, describe the challenges.

Question 2 [15 marks]

Whether relying on an in-house IT team or outsourcing the network to specialisecompany, the decision to purchase a ready-made solution or to have software specificallydeveloped raises a number of issues that must be considered. In a well written essay,discuss ten issues that need to be considered.

The purpose of an information system audit is to review and evaluate the internet controlsthat the system. Define objectives that the auditors have to assure in order to perform aninformation system audit.

E-commerce is doing business using information technology. The internet has providedthe infrastructure to enable the conduct of business activities from the comfort zone ofones home or office. A well-organised commercial website should be amenable forcustomer usage and maintainable by the owner. Verify the components that a goodwebsite should have.

Choosing the right Accounting System is very critical to effective management reporting.Explain ten criteria to be followed when choosing the right accounting system.

Question 6 [20 marks]

Suave Pizza has the following basic steps for taking an order and delivering of the

product, which is a cooked pizza:

• The process starts with a customer placing an order via telephone, email, text, and fax or

physically walking into the shop.

• The order details are completed on a predefined form by a sales person; completing

details such as: customer name, type and size of pizza, address to deliver, etc.

• The order details are sent to the kitchen on the predefined form by the sales person.

• The order (pizza) is prepared and labeled as follows: customer name, type of pizza and

size

• On completion of the order, a copy of the label is sent to finance for invoicing.

• The pizza is delivered to the customer together with the invoice (the customer can collect,

or Tamu Pizza may deliver it. The customer pays, takes the pizza and signs a delivery

note

From the scenario above, answer the questions below:

a) Mention two methods that may be used to obtain information to properly and accurately

model such a process. (4 marks)

b) What is the main difference between a flow chart and a Data Flow Diagram (DFD)

(6 Marks)

c) Draw a DFD diagram to depict the entity relations and flow of the data between the

entities. An entity is an object that can be uniquely identified e.g. a customer, the kitchen,

sales person etc. (10 marks)
