GeosyntheticClay Liners

Geosynthetic clay liners (GCLs) are manufactured barrier layers containing a competent layer of high-quality

sodium bentonite clay (granule or powder form) attached or adhered to geotextiles or a geomembrane.

The GCL’s low permeability and high strength make it an ideal replacement for low permeability soil or

clay liners for the containment of water and/or wastewater in engineered/constructed wetlands.

GCLs have been specified or used in enhancingconstructed wetlands for the following applications.

Brief benefits of utilizing a GCL versus compacted clay as;

WHAT IS GCL?

GCL’s lower permeability [5 x 10-9

centimeters per second (cm/sec)],

GCL’s greater resistance to desiccation,

Differential subsidence,

Resistence against freeze-thaw,

Resistence against root penetration,

And lastly, the ease and speed of installing the GCL.

A GCL is a high quality; high-swelling sodium bentonite clay adhered or attached to manufactured geotextiles or flexible geomembrane. The structure of interlayer sodium cations makes sodium bentonite hydrophilic (water attracting). The sodium cation clay structure readily accepts water molecules so that little free-water space is available

in the clay voids; hence, maximum water permeability’s of 5 x 10-9

cm/sec are readily obtained using GCLs.

AR Fiberglass Mesh

FileTeks glass fiber mesh, being used plaster equipment for façade mantling thermal insulation,

is able to meet all kinds of needs in constructions. Hydraulic binder cementitous plasters contain

high alkali environment during hardened stage.

Glass fibre is not resistant to alkali. A mesh should be produced from high resistant pure glass and should be finished enough in order to be plaster, in other words alkali resistant. Only E-glass (highest quality glass fibre) is used for Fileteks production. FileTeks contains neither wasted glass nor a lower quality glass fibre (C class).

ADVANTAGES

12

Before starting pegging, the adhesive must be completely dry. Thus according to weather conditions the application must be done at least 24 hours after the insulation plates have been bonded to the surface. The holes that are necessary for pegging the plates must be opened by a drill with the compatible piece for the diameter shown on the pegs.

The pegs must be placed onto the insulation plate so they make no ledges. The factors determining the length of the pegs are the thickness of the insulation plates, the thickness of the adhesive on the surface and if it is an old building the final coat finish thickness. After these measurements have been calculated, pegs are positioned to enter the building element at least 3cm's in.

Plastic Fixing & Anchoring Peg

In external façades heat insulation applications there are some matters that need caution for the

application to be done efficiently and properly. Because of this it is necessary for careful and detailed

preparation beforehand. TekFix provide trouble free installation pegs for your system.

The main reason for pegging is to prevent the effects of wind and turbulence. The amount of pegs to be applied to the system is accepted as 6 per/m2. However the height of the building and the environmental circumstances of the surroundings of the building may change the number of pegs. Especially in places that receive more wind, the corners of the building must be fortified with more pegs. The matter that should be considered here is to apply pegs at 1 mt width at the corners. The pegs must be at the same level of the insulation plate surface. In EPS plates, pegging heavily occurs at the insulation plate corner area. In this way hydrothermal effects are prevented.

The type of peg to be used is determined by the buildingelement that composes the surface.

For Example if the surface is cement cement peg (plastic or steel nailed),if it is brick brick peg,if it is ytong gas cement peg is used.If the insulation plate is gas cement peg (steel nailed) should be usedrock wool insulation plaque

Breathing Membranes

TekDrain is a High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) waterproof product with 8mm-high dimpled pattern

that covers the whole product surface with studs. It is used for foundations and also during every

construction stage where the use of a protective drainage product is required.

Weight : 400 - 500 - 600 g/m2

Color : BlackFlame Retardant: Class B2 - Norm DIN 4102

TekDrain provides a simple, lightweight, flexible drainage and filtration system suitable for accessed extensive and bio-diverse roof gardens by holding approximately 5 liters of water per m2, and the filtration layer will prevent any particles passing through, ensuring the cups do not become blocked.

This special product provides stability and high resistance to chemical agents, bacteria and fungi contamination, roots and pressure as a result of filling up soil. It does not release any pollutants.

TekDrain can be used for protecting bituminous membrane on masonry and in foundation walls against humidity and pressured ground waters.

When used in foundations, it creates ventilation between the bituminous membrane and the drainage membrane, thereby, preventing water infiltration.

TekDrain can also be used as a separating layer for materials used for construction of flat roofs, terraces, and roof gardens. It provides protection against any mechanical tearing of the waterproof membranes during the filling process and from internal leakage. The drainage of excess water is guaranteed.

APPLICATION

15

TekDrain performs the task of an armor for the protection of water insulation applied under the ground. It forms an air bag around the construction, absorbs the entire impacts of strokes applied onto it with its flexible embossed texture and enables the draining of the ground waters.

Drainage Boards System(Dimpled Board)

It is a new kind of concrete reinforcing product which is made of PP material with special technology. Its appearance is a net-like structure with many fiber monofilaments connected. When the fiber is put into the concrete, the horizontal structure of the fiber monofilament can be destroyed in the course of stirring owing to friction and rubbing, and the fiber monofilament or net-like structure will be fully stretched, thus the concrete is reinforced by a great

number of polypropylene fibers. As a new kind of concrete reinforcing fiber, it becomes a hot point in the field of fiber concrete research and application after glass fiber and steel fiber. It can be used to improve to increase the concrete cracking resistance and seepage resistance. And it can be widely used in concrete road surface, bridge surface, airport road surface, tunnel, the wall of the mine, floor, tank, river, dam, military defense, seaport, bridge pier, etc.

FiberCon Fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) is concrete containing fibrous material which increases its structural integrity. It contains short discrete fibers that are uniformly distributed and randomly oriented. Fibers include steel fibers, glass fibers, synthetic fibers and natural fibers. Within these different fibers that character of fiber reinforced concrete changes with varying concretes, fiber materials, geometries, distribution, orientation and densities.

FIBERCON PP FIBRILLATED

FIBERCON PET MULTI (Concrete & Bitumen)It is a kind of new reinforcing material made of PET by melting, extruding, quick-spinning and stretching. Its surface is specially dealt with and cut by a machine. Its appearance is beam-like structure with many monofilament fiber collecting. Its application includes improvement, reinforcement and connection to concrete. It can increase the concrete low-temperature resistance and prolong its life. Besides the small thinness, high tensile strength and

easily scattered, polyester fiber has special high temperature resistance. It can be used in hot-mixing bitumen concrete projects and reinforced crack-resistance for high-tensile concrete. So it is an ideal multi-functional reinforced material. It is mainly used in new-built bitumen concrete road surface, old bitumen concrete road improvement, road surface improvement, bridge surface bitumen concrete piece, high tensile strength concrete reinforcement.

Geosynthetic reinforcement may be used either to reduce the amount of the base layer/ballast or to increase the service lifetime of the structure. Reduction of base layer/ballast may have an effect on other functions, eg frost penetration depth, and this possibility must be evaluated fully.

ASFALTTEX® saves both time and money because it promises an easy and quick installation on the site of the job. In addition to asphalt reinforcements ASFALTTEX® can also be used in applications where high strength at low elongation is needed.

When building a road or a runway on a poor loaded capacity soil, reinforcement is necessary. Several alternatives exist to consolidate the subsoil. Among them, geosynthetics are widely use, mainly thanks to their cost efficiency and easiness of installation. ASFALTTEX® are asphalt reinforcement geogrids. ASFALTTEX® is made of glass yarns and is primarily intended to be used for stabilization of asphalt roads and for reconstruction of bituminous road surfaces.

HiperBond Antistripping agents / Modifies the bitumen's chemical structure

The antistripping agents are complex chemical surface-active substances, which guarantee a perfect adhesion of the bitumen film on the aggregate surface. They increase the bitumen wettability, tamping and resistance to mechanical and cyclic stress. They are used to improve the durability of the bituminous mixture and to guarantee the characteristic of resistance to stripping and durability towards the water factor.

HiperBond is a liquid antistripping agent, which guarantees a perfectly stable bond between bitumen and aggregate in any type of application condition (moisture, low ambient temperatures, acid nature aggregates). Its particular chemical components reduce the typical odor.

HiperBond can be dosed in line during the production process or directly in the binder's tank, since it is stable at high storage temperatures of the bitumen and at extended heating period, without altering the activity.

HiperBond is highly compatible with bitumen without modifying its physical characteristics (penetration, softening point and rheological properties).

HiperBond can be used in extreme and humid weather, and enhances the bond between bitumen and dust-covered acid aggregates. (quartzite, porphyry, etc.)

Bitumen is the glue that holds asphalt pavement together. Depending on the application

a greater or lesser part of the stress may be supported by the binder aggregate bond.

Whatever the application of bitumen for road construction and repair the integrity of the

bitumen aggregate bond is essential for the durability of the roadway. In surface repair

treatments like surface dressing a lack of adhesion between bitumen and aggregate will

be manifested as stripping loss of aggregate from the wearing surface of the road.

HiperCell Cellulose Fiber for SMA Stone Mastic

Cellulose fibers: pure, mineral or synthetic based available in our range. Fibers thicken the bitumen in the pavements type Antiskid, Porous, SMA, etc.

Natural Compressed Microfiber is Modify the bitumen's physical structure. The polymers for bitumen modify the physical structure improving the characteristics (rheological properties, penetration, springback, Fraass, etc.).

HiperCell is used for the production of any type of mix, especially for open, semi-open and SMA ones. HiperCell acts as a stabilizer, thickener and supporter for the bituminous binder to improve the characteristics and mechanical resistance of the mix in order to avoid bitumen "dripping" from the aggregates.

HiperCell must be added directly in the mixing plant, through a dosing system, avoiding a dispersion of dust in the air.

PAWMA: Additive for warm mixPAWMA is a technology based on a liquid product, that, added to bitumen allows to decreases the production temperature of over 40°C, limits the gas emissions that cause the greenhouse effect and reduces fuel consumption.

PAWMA is a technology based on a liquid product, which added to bitumen in quantities of 0.3 – 1%, allows to produce the warm mix at temperatures between 90°C - 120°C.

PAWMA, acts on the bitumen's surface tension, therefore doesn't modify the chemical and physical characteristics of the bitumen (R&B, penetration, viscosity, paraffin content). The technology is easy to use: it doesn't provide plant modifications and doesn't introduce water into the mix. Its use began in 2002 with test plots across Europe, wear layers, connection layers, even with the addition of milled material (RAP).

Benefits: decreases the production temperature of over 40°C, limits the gas emissions that cause the greenhouse effect and reduces fuel consumption. The mechanical characteristics of the obtained mixes are identical to the ones produced at normal temperatures.

Cellulose FiberDOPSBS

PAWMA

In thick layers of dense or open-graded asphalt, lack of adhesion may show as a reduction in stability and load carrying capacity, and fatting up of the surface. The strength of the bitumen - aggregate bond depends, at the molecular level on the interaction of chemical groups in the surface of the aggregate with groups in the bitumen. The aggregate surface is hydrophilic and typically contains groups like silanol. Bitumen is essentially a non-polar material but contains small amounts of polar groups such as: carboxylic acids, anhydrides, quinolines, ketones and sulphoxides which occur as parts of the large macromolecular "asphaltene' compounds. The polar compounds in bitumens depend on the source and processing of the bitumen. High penetration binders are generally richer in the napthenic acid components than low-penetration (harder) binders.

Increases the plant's hourly production

Allows carrying the mix at greater distances

Improves the workability facilitating hand laying

Less -50% of emissions in the atmosphere

From 20% to 50% less energy for production

From 40°C to 70°C less compared to classic mix.
