Polycom® RealPresence® Group Series Media Centerwith a Single 55, 65, 84, or 86 Inch Display or 55 Inch Dual Displays

Note: For the RealPresence Group Series wall-secured option, refer to the Polycom RealPresence Group Series Wall-SecuredSetup Sheet.

Remove the base from packaging and flip the base over.Attach the four legs to the base, using two M10 x 50flanged socket head cap screws per leg.

Install the supplied floor glides on the legs, using one flatwasher and one split lock washer per glide. Ensure that theflat washer is closest to the leg surface. Alternatively,install the optional casters on the legs. The locking castersmust be installed on the front legs, which are located on theside of the base with no slots. Attach the casters using oneflat washer and one lock washer per caster. Ensure that theflat washer is closest to the leg surface. Pull the casterup to fit the wrench underneath to tighten the hardware. After tightening, push the caster back down.

With the assistance of another person, flip the base overand lock the front casters.

Detach the pre-installed speaker bracket from eachvertical support by removing the 1/4-20 x 5/8 socket headcap screws, flat washers, and lock washers. Set themaside.

Place the left vertical support on the base, aligning theholes in the base with the holes in the bottom of thevertical support. Attach the vertical support to the baseusing three M10 x 25 flanged socket head cap screws pervertical support. Do not fully tighten. Repeat with theright vertical support.

Use the optional casters only with dual 42, single or dual 55, or single 65 inch display configurations. Do not use the optional casters with dual 65 or single 84 inch display configurations. This violates safety standards and could cause serious injury or death.

Install the lower display rail (single or dual) by aligning theholes in the display rail with the holes in the verticalsupports. Attach with four M10 x 25 flanged socket headcap screws. Do not fully tighten.

Install the upper display rail (single or dual) by aligning theholes in the display rail with the holes in the verticalsupports. Attach with four M10 x 25 flanged socket headcap screws. Do not fully tighten.

Install the standard door or the Lower Camera Mount door:(a) Install the nylon spacer over the front door hinge pin atthe base.

(b) Insert the hinge pin/bracket into the top of the front door.(c) Slide the bottom of the front door onto the doorhinge pin. Position the top hinge bracket underneath thebottom display rail by sliding it in between. Align theholes in the bracket with the holes in the vertical supports.(d) Attach the door using two 10-32 x 7/16 pan head screws.

Attach the rear panel by inserting the two tabs at thebottom of the door into the slots in the base. This servesas an alignment tool to ensure the frame is properlyaligned before tightening all bolts. Using the L-key,tighten the socket head cap screws at the bottom of thebase, the lower display rail, and the upper display rail.Remove the rear door.

Assemble and install the subwoofer feet approximately3/8 inch onto the screws on the bottom of the subwoofer. Place the subwoofer onto the bottom of the Media Center by inserting the screws into the holes at the bottom of the Media Center.

Attach the speaker wires to the left speaker. Fasten the speaker bracket to the speaker using two 1/4-20 x 5/8 inchsocket head cap screws, flat washers, and lock washers.Repeat with the right speaker. Align the bracket on theright speaker so that the speakers will be oriented thesame on both sides, with the label on the bottom.

Install the left speaker assembly on the vertical supportby aligning the holes in the speaker bracket with theholes in the vertical support. Ensure that the speakeris oriented so the label is at the bottom. Attach with thetwo previously uninstalled 1/4-20 x 5/8 inch socket head cap screws, flat washers, and lock washers. Feed the speaker wire through the hole at the bottom of the vertical support. Leaving enough slack to reach the subwoofer, trim or dress the speaker cable as needed. Repeat with the right speaker assembly. Attach the speaker wires to the subwoofer. For cabling details, refer to the documentation that came with the subwoofer.

Attach the mesh grill on the left side by inserting thethree tabs behind the front door and flexing the mesh grillas needed to fit. Open the front door and install three10-32 x 1/2 inch pan head screws. Repeat with the meshgrill on the right side.

Insert a shoulder screw onto the flange on both ends ofthe power strip. Note that the flange should be betweenthe shoulder and the threads of the shoulder screw.

Install the power strip to the left vertical support, usingthe two shoulder screws. Install the power brick.

On the back side, install a handle on both ends of thebottom display rail.

Note: For 84 and 86 inch displays, refer to the PolycomRealPresence Group Series Media Center with 84 or86 inch Display Setup Sheet Supplement.

For Sampo 55 and 65 inch displays, install the display mount brackets on the display using two M8 x 20 button head cap screws in the second hole down on eachdisplay bracket.

For LG 65 inch displays, install the display mount brackets on the display using two M6 x 16 button headcap screws in the sixth hole down on each display bracket.

Adjust the supplied 1/4-20 x 3.5 inch socket head capscrews at the top of each display bracket. Leave thescrews adjusted up before mounting the display tothe top rail. If you have a dual display configuration,repeat with the second display.

With the assistance of another person, lift the displayand attach the display bracket hooks over the edge ofthe upper display bracket on the Media Center.

If you have a dual display configuration, repeat withthe second display.

Adjust the leveler screws as needed (does not applyfor 84 and 86 inch display mounts).

Center the display on the Media Center. Insert oneM6 x 16 flanged button head screw into each displaybracket to lock the display.

If you have a dual display configuration, center the twodisplays on the Media Center. Insert one M6 x 16flanged button head screw into one display bracket tolock each display.

Note: For the wall mount option, refer to step 7 in thePolycom RealPresence Group Series Wall-SecuredSupplement. For the camera mount instructions in all 84and 86 inch configurations, refer to step 2 in the PolycomRealPresence Group Series with 84 and 86 Inch Display Setup Sheet Supplement.

If installing the Lower Camera Mount door, skip this step.

Attach the EagleEye IV camera to the camera mountbracket using four M3 x 6 Phillips flat head screws.

Attach the camera assembly to the display using four1/4-20 x 5/8 inch socket head cap screws, four flat washers, and four lock washers.

Install two clip-on rack nut fasteners in the seventhand ninth holes from the top, on the left vertical support.Repeat with the right vertical support. Adjust the heightas needed.

If installing the Lower Camera Mount kit, refer to thePolycom RealPresence Group Series Media CenterLower Camera Mount Kit Setup Sheet for instructionsand correct location.

Install the codec to the 1U shelf using two M3 x 10screws. Install the 1U shelf using four 10-32 x 1/2 inchpan head screws.

Attach the cables to the codec, display, and speaker/subwoofer-amplifier system. Refer to the diagram onpage 8 and to the instructions that came with thecomponents for cabling details.

Route the cables neatly using the cutout at the bottomand the hollow interior of the vertical supports. Neatlydress the cables as needed.

Plug the cables into the power strip and plug thepower strip into a power outlet.

Only plug Polycom Media Center componentsinto the power outlet block. Do not power any other electrical equipment from this power outlet.

Install the rear panel by inserting the two tabs at thebottom of the panel into the two slots in the base.

Note that this step does not apply to the wall-securedoption.

Install the upper display rail by aligning the holes in the display rail with the holes in the vertical supports. Attachwith eight M10 x 25 flanged socket head cap screws.

Remove the retainer bracket from the back of the upperdisplay rail and set aside.

Install the standard door or the Lower Camera Mount door:(a) Install the nylon spacer over the front door hinge pin atthe base.

(b) Insert the hinge pin/bracket into the top of the front door.(c) Slide the bottom of the front door onto the doorhinge pin. Install a handle on both ends of the bottom displayrail on the back side.

Install four M6 x 25 Phillips flat screws, four washers,and four T-nuts on the back of each display.

With the assistance of another person, lift one of thedisplays and slide the display T-nuts into the keyhole slots in the upper display rail. Repeat with the seconddisplay.

Attach the retainer bracket to the back of the upperdisplay rail using one wing nut on each end of thedisplay rail.
