CONCEPT
Jean-Marie Massaud conçoit Archibald Gran
Comfort, une lecture complètement nouvelle
du projet Archibald, dont il off re une version
informelle et raffi née.
L’élément central est le grand coussin mo-
elleux de l’assise. Un sac en cuir mou et
luxueux, avec un rembourrage en duvet d’oie
surabondant, en contraste avec
le style architectural du cadre
en acier qui l’accueille. Les qua-
tre pieds du fauteuil, toujours
en acier, créent eux aussi un
contrepoint visuel intéressant
avec la richesse du coussin.
Le revêtement déhoussable est
réalisé exclusivement avec le
nouveau cuir Pelle Frau® Safari,
nettement plus épais et riche, où
le grain est beaucoup plus évi-
dent que dans les autres types
de cuirs utilisés par Poltrona
Frau. Son aspect matérique se
prête parfaitement pour met-
tre en valeur l’élégance déten-
due du fauteuil Archibald Gran
Comfort. Les profi ls périmétraux
du revêtement sont enrichis par
une découpe à vif du cuir, peint
à la main et fi ni par des coutures
en contraste, avec un travail mi-
nutieux qui s’inspire de la petite
maroquinerie de luxe.

Jean-Marie Massaud disegna Archibald Gran
Comfort, lettura completamente nuova del
progetto Archibald del quale off re una raffi -
nata versione informale.
Elemento centrale, il grande e soffi ce cuscino
della seduta. Un lussuoso e morbido sacco
in pelle dalla sovrabbondante imbottitura in
piume d’oca, in contrasto con il taglio
architettonico della cornice in acciaio
che lo accoglie. Anche i quattro piedi
della poltrona, sempre in acciaio, cre-
ano un interessante contrappunto vi-
sivo con la ricchezza del cuscino.
Il rivestimento sfoderabile è realizza-
to esclusivamente con la nuova Pelle
Frau® Safari, decisamente più spes-
sa e corposa e dalla grana molto più
evidente rispetto alle altre tipologie
di pelle utilizzate da Poltrona Frau.
Il suo aspetto materico si presta in
modo perfetto a valorizzare la distesa
eleganza di Archibald Gran Comfort.
I profi li perimetrali del rivestimento
sono impreziositi dal taglio vivo della
pelle dipinto a mano e rifi nito da cu-
citure a contrasto, con una minuziosa
lavorazione ispirata alla piccola pel-
letteria di lusso.
CONCEPT
Jean-Marie Massaud has designed the Archi-
bald Gran Comfort in a completely new inter-
pretation of the Archibald project, of which it
off ers a refi ned and informal version.
The central element is the large and soft seat
cushion. The luxurious and soft leather bag
with abundant goose-down padding sits in
contrast with the architectural style of the
steel shelf which supports it. The armchai-
r’s four feet, also made from steel, create
an interesting visual counterpoint with the
richness of the cushion.
The removable upholstery is available exclu-
sively in the new Pelle Frau® Safari leather,
decidedly thicker and more substantial with
a much more evident grain compared to the
other leathers in the Poltrona Frau collec-
tion. The leather’s material aspect perfectly
enhances the expansive elegance of the Ar-
chibald Gran Comfort. The upholstery’s ou-
ter profi les are embellished by the raw cut
of the leather, hand-painted and fi nished
with contrasting stitching with meticulous
craftsmanship inspired by small luxury le-
ather goods.

Comfort, eine völlig neue Leseart des Projekts
Archibald, das sich in einer raffi nierten infor-
mellen Version präsentiert.
Zentrales Element ist das große, fl auschige
Sitzkissen. Eine luxuriöse und weiche Hülle
aus Leder mit üppiger Polsterung aus Gänse-
daunen als Kontrast zum architektonischen
Schnitt seines Stahlrahmens. Auch die vier
Füße des Sessels, ebenfalls aus Stahl, er-
zeugen einen interessanten visuellen Kontra-
punkt zum reichhaltigen Kissen.
Der abnehmbare Bezug besteht zur Gän-
ze aus dem neuen Pelle Frau® Safari-Leder,
das wesentlich dicker und fester ist und eine
augenscheinlichere Narbung als die anderen
Lederarten bei Poltrona Frau aufweist. Sei-
ne plastische Optik eignet sich perfekt, um
die entspannte Eleganz von Archibald Gran
Comfort zur Geltung zu bringen. Die Ran-
dabschlüsse des Bezugs werden durch den
groben Schnitt des handgefärbten Leders
veredelt und mit Kontrastnähten verziert. Die
minutiöse Verarbeitung erfolgt im Stile luxu-
riöser Kleinlederwaren.

Il molleggio della seduta, realizzata
in faggio, è ottenuto con cinghie
elastiche che tornano, come
ulteriore elemento di comfort, lungo
il perimetro dello schienale con
struttura in acciaio. Struttura e piedi
in acciaio sono caratterizzati dalla
fi nitura Ruthenium. Sottilissimi
e leggeri, sembrano quasi disegnati
a matita.
La suspension de l’assise, réalisée
en hêtre, est obtenue grâce à des
sangles élastiques qui retournent,
comme élément supplémentaire
de confort, le long du périmètre
du dossier, dont la structure
est en acier. La structure et
les pieds en acier sont caractérisés
par une fi nition Ruthénium.
Très fi ns et légers, ils ont presque
l’air d’être dessinés au crayon.
The suspension of the beech seat
is achieved with elastic straps which
continue along the outside edge

The steel frame and feet are
characterised by the Ruthenium
fi nish. Extremely thin and light, they
almost seem to be sketched in pencil.
Die Federung des Sessels aus
Buchenholz erfolgt mit elastischen
Gurten, welche - zwecks Maximierung
des Komforts - auch rund um die
Rückenlehne mit Stahlstruktur
verlaufen. Struktur und Füße aus
Stahl zeichnen sich durch ein
Ruthenium-Finish aus. Filigran,
zart und leicht, erscheinen sie fast
wie Bleistiftstriche.

L’imbottitura in trapunta di piuma
d’oca canalizzata, per sedile
e schienale esalta la morbidezza
della poltrona. La sensazione
d’insieme è il naturale incontro
fra le diverse parti, per comporre
una seduta dalle dimensioni
volutamente molto generose
e accoglienti.
Le rembourrage pour l’assise
et le dossier, façon matelassage avec
duvet d’oie canalisé, renforce encore
la douceur du fauteuil. Le sentiment
d’ensemble est la rencontre naturelle
entre les diff érentes parties, pour
composer un siège aux dimensions
délibérément généreuses
et accueillantes.
The quilted goose-down baffl e
padding of the seat and backrest
enhances the softness of the

is of the natural meeting of diff erent
elements, creating a seat
of intentionally generous
and welcoming proportions.
Durch die Polsterung von Sitzfl äche
und Rückenlehne aus in Kammern
gesteppten Gänsedaunen wird die
Weichheit des Sessels weiter betont.
Der Gesamteindruck ergibt sich aus
der natürlichen Begegnung zwischen
den verschiedenen Partien, die ein
Sitzmöbel mit gewollt großzügigen
und einladenden Dimensionen
entstehen lässt.

CONCEPT
C’est un canapé, mais aussi une dormeuse, un
nid accueillant et généreux. Scarlett conquiert
la scène et invite à la détente, avec sa forme
circulaire inattendue. Un projet pleinement
dans les cordes de Jean-Marie Massaud, qui
aime associer aux géométries architecturales
des volumes pleins et moelleux.
Tout autour de Scarlett se
déroule un anneau en acier qui
supporte un système de san-
gles en cuir Cuoio Saddle Extra.
Chaque sangle est décorée d’un
marquage et d’une bordure qui
rappellent le travail complexe
des ceintures et de la petite
maroquinerie de la meilleure
qualité. L’ensemble des sangles
crée une structure qui sert à la
fois d’accoudoir et de dossier.
Un élégant réseau qui accueil-
le l’assise richement rembou-
rrée de duvet d’oie et mousse
de polyuréthane. Duvet d’oie
aussi pour les grands coussins
du dossier, auxquels se super-
posent librement des coussins
mobiles carrés et rectangulai-
res. Le revêtement de tous les
coussinages est en tissu ou en
cuir Pelle Frau®.
CONCEPT
È un divano, ma anche una dormeuse, un nido
accogliente e generoso. Scarlett conquista la
scena e invita al relax, con la sua inaspettata
forma circolare. Un progetto pienamente nelle
corde di Jean-Marie Massaud, che ama acco-
stare geometrie architettoniche e volumi pieni
e morbidi.
Tutto attorno a Scarlett corre un anel-
lo di acciaio che sorregge un sistema
di cinghie in Cuoio Saddle Extra. Ogni
cinghia è decorata da una marcatura e
bordatura che riprendono le complesse
lavorazioni delle cinture e della piccola
pelletteria di più alto livello. L’insieme
delle cinghie crea una struttura che
funge al tempo stesso da bracciolo e
schienale. Un elegante reticolo che ac-
coglie la seduta riccamente imbottita
di piuma d’oca e poliuretano espanso.
Piuma d’oca anche per gli ampi cuscini
dello schienale, ai quali si sovrappon-
gono liberamente cuscini mobili qua-
drati e rettangolari. Il rivestimento di
tutte le cuscinature è in tessuto o in
Pelle Frau®.
CONCEPT
A sofa which is also a chaise-lounge, a welco-
ming and comfortable nest. The Scarlett ste-
als the show, its eye-catching circular form
an invitation to relax. A project very much in
line with Jean-Marie Massaud’s style, the
Scarlett combines architectural geometries
with full and soft volumes.
The piece is surrounded by a steel ring which
supports a system of Cuoio Saddle Extra le-
ather straps. Each strap is decorated with
markings and edging which echo the complex
processing of the highest quality leather
belts and goods. The straps create a fra-
me which functions both as a backrest and
armrest in an elegant lattice which hosts the
well-padded goose down and polyurethane
foam seat. Goose down is also used in the
large backrest cushions, which in turn are
liberally covered with loose square and rec-
tangular cushions. All of the cushions are
upholstered in fabric or Pelle Frau®.
KONCEPT
Ein Sofa, gleichzeitig aber auch Dormeuse, ein
einladendes und großzügiges Nest. Mit seiner
unerwarteten runden Form setzt sich Scarlett
in Szene und lädt zum Entspannen ein. Ein
Projekt im typischen Stil von Jean-Marie
Massaud, der architektonische Geometrien
gerne mit vollen, weichen Volumen kombiniert.
Rund um Scarlett verläuft ein Ring aus Stahl,
der ein Gurtsystem aus Cuoio Saddle Extra-
Leder stützt. Jeder Gurt ist mit einer Prägung
und Einfassung verziert, die an die aufwän-
dige Verarbeitung von hochwertigen Gürteln
und Kleinlederwaren erinnern. Das Gurten-
semble erzeugt eine Struktur, die gleichzei-
tig als Arm- und Rückenlehne fungiert. Ein
elegantes Gefl echt, das die üppig mit Gänse-
daunen und Polyurethanschaum gepolsterte
Sitzfl äche beherbergt. Gänsedaunen auch bei
den breiten Kissen der Rückenlehne, auf de-
nen lose quadratische und rechteckige Kissen
liegen. Die Kissenbezüge sind allesamt aus
Pelle Frau®.

La fi nitura dell’acciaio, spazzolato
e brunito, dà al metallo una profondità
materica e un calore che si abbinano
con discrezione al Cuoio Saddle
Extra delle cinghie, decorate da una
meticolosa marcatura e bordatura
perimetrale. E fra una cinghia e l’altra,
in un movimento di pieni e vuoti che
dà respiro alla visione d’insieme,
si intravede la pelle e il tessuto
dei cuscini.
La fi nition de l’acier, qui est brossé
et bruni, donne au métal une
profondeur matérique et une chaleur
qui s’associent discrètement au cuir
Cuoio Saddle Extra des sangles,
décorées d’un marquage méticuleux
et d’un pourtour bordé.
Et l’on entrevoit, entre une sangle
et une autre, dans un mouvement
de pleins et de vides qui donne

beech wood. The Scarlett also

CONCEPT
Jean-Marie Massaud exprime avec élégance

les lignes sinueuses et les constructions
architecturales. Bullit est un paysage à vi-
vre. Le canapé comme un espace de confort
absolu. Un système ouvert à d’innombra-
bles compositions, conçues comme des îles
de détente. Les hauteurs du
dossier et de l’accoudoir coïn-
cident, en créant un périmètre
accueillant. La profondeur de
l’assise est vraiment importan-
te. Chaque confi guration est
rendue encore plus éclectique
et créative par des coussins
mobiles carrés et rectangulai-
res, rembourrés de duvet d’oie
et revêtus de cuir ou de tissu,
que l’on peut multiplier au gré
de chacun.
La structure du dossier et
des accoudoirs, rembourrés en
mousse de polyuréthane et ou-
ate de polyester, est en hêtre
et peuplier secs. La suspension
de l’assise, rembourrée de du-
vet d’oie et fl ocon de polyester
avec des inserts en mousse de
polyuréthane, est obtenue par
des sangles élastiques. Les
revêtements sont en cuir Pelle
Frau® ou en tissu déhoussable.

d’oca e rivestiti in pelle o tessuto, da
moltiplicare a piacere.
La struttura di schienale e braccio-
li, imbottiti in poliuretano espanso e
ovatta poliestere, è in faggio e pioppo
stagionato. Il molleggio della seduta,
imbottita in piuma d’oca e fi occo polie-
stere con inserti in poliuretano espan-
so, è ottenuta con cinghie elastiche.
I rivestimenti sono in Pelle Frau® o in
tessuto sfoderabile.

language of contrasts between clean volumes
and decorativism, between sinuous lines and
architectural constructions.
Bullit is a landscape to be experienced, the
sofa as a space of absolute comfort. A sy-
stem open to countless compositions envi-
saged as islands of relaxation. The heights
of the backrest and armrest are equal, cre-
ating a welcoming outside edge. The depth
of the seat is a particularly important ele-
ment. To make each confi guration even more
eclectic and creative, loose square and rec-
tangular cushions, padded with goose-down
and upholstered in leather or fabric, can be
added at will.
The backrest and armrest frame, padded with
polyurethane foam and polyester wadding,
is in beech and seasoned poplar wood. The
seat is padded with goose-down and polye-
ster stable with polyurethane foam inserts,
and the suspension is provided with elastic
straps. The upholstery is available in Pelle
Frau® leather or in removable fabric.

Jean-Marie Massaud bringt seine Sprache
der Kontraste zwischen klaren Volumen-

und Armlehne sind aufeinander abgestimmt

Noch eklektischer und kreativer wird jede
Konfi guration durch die losen quadratischen
und rechteckigen Kissen mit Polsterung aus
Gänsedaunen und Bezug aus Leder oder Stoff ,
die nach Belieben ergänzt werden können.
Die Struktur von Rücken- und Armlehnen
mit Polsterung aus Polyurethanschaum und
Polyesterwatte ist aus abgelagertem Buchen-
und Pappelholz. Die Federung der Sitzfl äche
mit Polsterung aus Gänsedaunen und Polye-
sterfl ocken mit Einlage aus Polyurethan-
schaum, wird durch elastische Gurte erzielt.
Die Bezüge sind aus Pelle Frau®-Leder oder
aus abnehmbarem Stoff .

Bullit, dotato di cuscino schienale
di supporto, viene proposto anche
nella versione Bullit Casual,
dove i cuscini si appoggiano
liberamente sullo schienale.
Il sistema divano si amplifi ca con
un mobile accostabile o sostituibile
al bracciolo, con mensola a giorno.
La struttura geometrica a piani lignei
si arricchisce di due ciottoli scultorei
rivestiti in Cuoio Saddle Extra.
Bullit, doté d’un coussin de dossier
de support, est également proposé
dans la version Bullit Casual,
où les coussins sont librement
posés sur le dossier. Ce système
canapé s’enrichit d’un meuble qui
peut se juxtaposer ou se substituer
à l’accoudoir, avec une tablette
ouverte. Sa structure géométrique,
avec des rayons en bois, s’enrichit
de deux galets sculptés revêtus

La volumetria importante di Bullit
si alleggerisce grazie ai sostegni in
alluminio con fi nitura acciaio brunito.
Con la loro particolare forma a
lama, sembrano tagliare gli elementi
imbottiti, fra i quali si posizionano
a incastro. La superfi cie dell’alluminio
è ingentilita da un motivo sfaccettato
che rifl ette la luce come un cristallo.
Le volume important de Bullit s’allège
grâce aux soutiens en aluminium avec
fi nitions en acier bruni. Avec leur
forme particulière en lame, ils ont l’air
de couper les éléments rembourrés,
entre lesquels ils s’encastrent.
La surface de l’aluminium est adoucie
par un motif facetté, qui refl ète

CONCEPT
Le design d’Aida, doux et courtois, évoque
la corolle d’une fl eur. Les accoudoirs du
fauteuil s’ouvrent et se courbent vers l’ex-
térieur comme des pétales. Des géométries
simples tracent une volumétrie à la fois déli-
cate et fortement caractérisée. Avec ce pro-
jet aussi, Roberto Lazzeroni crée une forme
familière qui, grâce à l’incisivité du symbole,
devient nouvelle et moderne.
En plus de la nature, le monde
iconographique de référence
est le mobilier des années
1950. Aida reprend la nette-
té formelle et l’alliance entre
le tissu et le cuir, typiques de
cette époque. Dans cette os-
cillation raffi née entre le passé
et le présent, le fauteuil unit
des techniques de construc-
tion historiques et des détails
et des matières actuels. Comme
pour les pièces classiques des
archives de Poltrona Frau, la
suspension de l’assise, réali-
sée en hêtre sec, est obtenue
par des ressorts biconiques en
acier liés à la main et placés sur
des sangles de jute. La coque
du dossier et le rembourrage
de l’assise, suivant les techno-
logies les plus modernes, sont
en mousse de polyuréthane, et
obtenus par moulage.
CONCEPT
Il design di Aida, morbido e garbato, evoca
la corolla di un fi ore. I braccioli della poltro-
na si schiudono e si curvano verso l’esterno
come petali. Semplici geometrie tracciano
una volumetria delicata e allo stesso tempo
fortemente caratterizzata. Anche con que-
sto progetto Roberto Lazzeroni crea una
forma familiare che, attraverso l’incisività
del segno, diventa nuova e moderna.
Accanto alla natura, il mondo icono-
grafi co di riferimento sono gli arre-
di anni ’50. Aida riprende la pulizia
formale e l’abbinamento fra tessuto
e pelle, tipici di quell’epoca. In que-
sto raffi nato oscillare tra passato e
presente, la poltrona unisce tecniche
costruttive storiche a accorgimenti
e materiali attuali. Come nei classici
pezzi dell’archivio di Poltrona Frau,
il molleggio della seduta, realizzata
in faggio stagionato, è ottenuto con
molle biconiche in acciaio legate a
mano e appoggiate su cinghie di juta.
La scocca dello schienale e l’imbottitu-
ra del sedile, secondo le tecnologie più
avanzate, sono in poliuretano espanso
e vengono ottenuti da stampo.
CONCEPT
Aida, with its soft and graceful design,
evokes the corolla of a fl ower. The arms open
and curve outwards like petals. Simple geo-
metrical forms make up what is a delicate yet
strongly characterised ensemble. Again, with
this design, Roberto Lazzeroni has created a
familiar shape whose incisive style makes it
new and modern.
Besides nature, the iconographic reference is
1950s furniture. Aida echoes the clean forms
and the combination of fabric and leather
typical of that period. In this refi ned oscilla-
tion between past and present, the armchair
blends traditional production techniques
with up-to-date materials and eff ects. Like
traditional Poltrona Frau pieces, the seat,
made in seasoned beechwood, is sprung with
hand-tied steel biconical springs laid on jute
belts. The frame of the back and the padding
of the seat, in line with the very latest tech-
nology, are in moulded polyurethane foam.
KONCEPT
Das weiche und vornehme Design von Aida er-
innert an eine Krone einer Blume. Die nach au-
ßen gebogenen Armlehnen des Sessels öff nen
sich wie Blütenblätter. Einfache Geometrien
zeichnen sanfte, gleichzeitig aber auch cha-
rakterstarke Volumen. Auch mit diesem Pro-
jekt kreiert Roberto Lazzeroni eine vertraute
Form, die sich durch die plakative Linienfüh-
rung in neuer und moderner Optik präsentiert.
Abgesehen von der Natur dienten hier die
Möbel der 50er Jahre als Anhaltspunkt für
die Bilder- und Formensprache. Aida greift
die formale Reinheit und das Nebeneinander
aus Stoff und Leder auf, die für diese Epoche
typisch sind. Bei diesem raffi nierten Wech-
selspiel aus Vergangenheit und Gegenwart
verbindet der Sessel historische Fertigungs-
techniken mit modernen Kniff en und Materia-
lien. Wie bei den klassischen Stücken aus dem
Archiv von Poltrona Frau erfolgt die Federung
des Sessels aus abgelagerter Buche über
doppelkonische, von Hand verbundene Federn
auf Juteriemen. Der Aufbau der Rückenlehne
und die Polsterung der Sitzfl äche greifen auf
modernste Techniken zurück und sind aus ge-
stanztem Polyurethanschaum gefertigt.

CONCEPT
Le système de canapés Bretagne s’ouvre à de
nouvelles combinaisons décoratives élégan-
tes, en utilisant diff érentes matières. Les
nombreux coussins de soutien accueillants
sont proposés dans leur nouvelle version
revêtue de tissu déhoussable, qui accroît leur
douceur et commodité. Assortis à la coque qui
est revêtue de cuir Pelle Frau®, ils donnent
un eff et d’ensemble de grande
chaleur visuelle et tactile.
Un profi l mince en acier avec
fi nition couleur canon de fusil
crée un décor sobre sur l’arri-
ère, à la jonction entre l’accou-
doir et le dossier. La structure
de la base est en bois sec de
hêtre et de peuplier. Le dos-
sier et les accoudoirs sont réa-
lisés en bouleau multiplis, avec

padding and polyester wadding. The springs
of the seat take the form of elastic straps
and it is padded with polyurethane foam and
pressed felt. The seat and backrest cushions
are padded with goose down with a stabilising

Lazzeroni reprend les traits distinctifs de la
chaise en les déclinant dans un fauteuil et un
tabouret.
Pour le fauteuil, l’assise devient plus déten-
due, le dossier s’abaisse presque impercep-
tiblement, tandis que les deux
ailes latérales caractéristiques
s’élargissent et s’allongent pour
devenir des accoudoirs conforta-
bles. Pour le tabouret, les sou-
tiens s’élèvent et se distinguent
par la structure en croisillon et
par le repose-pieds antérieur
revêtu de métal couleur canon
de fusil. Les proportions du
dossier sont réduites, tout en
maintenant sa forme sinueuse
caractéristique.
La coque est en hêtre multiplis
cintré au moule, et le rembourra-
ge en mousse de polyuréthane.
Le piétement est en frêne massif
teinté wengé, auquel s’ajoute la
nouvelle fi nition moka.

Lazzeroni riprende i tratti distintivi della
sedia e li declina nella poltroncina e nello
sgabello.
Nella poltroncina la seduta diventa più rilas-
sata, lo schienale si abbassa quasi impercet-
tibilmente mentre le due caratteristi-
che ali laterali si ampliano e allungano
diventando braccioli avvolgenti. Nello
sgabello i sostegni si alzano e si di-
stinguono per la struttura a crociera e
per il poggiapiedi anteriore rivestito in
metallo canna di fucile. Lo schienale si
riduce nelle proporzioni, mantenendo
la sua caratteristica forma sinuosa.
La scocca è in legno multistrato di fag-
gio curvato da stampo e l’imbottitura
in poliuretano espanso. Il basamento
è in legno massello di frassino tinto
wengé, a cui si aggiunge la nuova fi -
nitura moka.
CONCEPT
The Montera becomes a collection. Roberto
Lazzeroni revisits the distinctive traits of
the chair and instils them in the armchair
and stool.
The seat of the armchair is more relaxed, the
backrest is lowered almost imperceptibly,
whilst the two characteristic side wings are
widened and lengthened to form enveloping
armrests. The raised legs of the stool stand
out for their cross-like structure and the
gunmetal grey metal footrest at the front.
The backrest is smaller, maintaining its cha-
racteristic curved shape.
The frame is composed of curved and moul-
ded beech plywood with polyurethane foam
padding. Legs are in wenge-coloured solid
ash wood and sports the new Moka fi nish.

Montera wird zur Kollektion. Roberto Lazzeroni
greift die charakteristischen Elemente des
Stuhls auf und lässt sie in das Design von
Sessel und Hocker einfl ießen.
In der Sesselvariante wird der Stuhl
„entspannter“, die Rückenlehne wird fast
unmerklich abgesenkt, während die beiden
charakteristischen Seitenfl ügel breiter und
länger werden und sich in bequeme Armlehnen
verwandeln. Beim Hocker werden die Stütze-
lemente angehoben. Sie zeichnen sich durch
die überkreuzte Struktur und die vordere
Fußstütze aus, die mit Metall mit mattgrauem
Finish beschichtet ist. Reduzierte Propor-
tionen bei der Rückenlehne – sie behält ihre
typische geschwungene Form bei.
Der Aufbau besteht aus formgebogenem Multi-
schicht-Buchenholz, die Polsterung aus Polyu-
rethanschaum. Das Gestell ist aus wengéfar-
benem Multischicht-Eschenholz gefertigt, zu
dem sich das neue Mokka-Finish gesellt.

spostare facilmente il pouf e di utiliz-

An elegant interplay of Chinese boxes, solids
and voids, lightness and material.One side
table contains the next. The fi rst mini archi-
tectural design is inspired by the Freedom
Tower in New York.
The gunmetal grey-fi nished tubular metal
hollow structure forms a hexagonal prism
that extends towards the sky, and is sur-
rounded by six panels of Cuoio Saddle Ex-
tra leather expertly stitched together with a
contrasting thread. The top is composed of
sheet metal and black painted birch plywood
with leather upholstery. The upholstery al-
ternates between three panels of full-grain
leather and three of punched leather. The se-
cond pouf-side table, which nests perfectly
in the recess of the fi rst, is constructed
from beech plywood covered with a thin
polyurethane foam padding and completely
upholstered in fabric or Pelle Frau® leather.
A small handle allows the pouf to be easily
moved and used either alongside the other
table or as a standalone furnishing.

tion mit einer Struktur aus Multischicht-Bu-

lässt sich der Pouf einfach herausziehen und

CONCEPT
Cent ans après la naissance de Tapio Wirkkala
(1915 – 1985), fi gure clé du design et de
l’art fi nlandais, Poltrona Frau réédite l’une
de ses pièces dont jusqu’à présent il existait
très peu d’exemplaires. La table « Bird », un
projet emblématique de la poésie naturelle et
organique de Wirkkala. Une forme sinueuse,
essentielle et abstraite à la fois, qui s’inspire
de la silhouette d’un oiseau,
sujet fréquemment traité dans
son œuvre de designer et
de sculpteur, tout comme le
coquillage, la glace, les feuilles.
Poltrona Frau a étudié pour la
première fois la réalisation en
série de cette table, se con-
frontant à un véritable défi
pour la production. Le travail du
dessus de table est d’une gran-
de complexité. La stratifi cation
de plaques de bouleau tranché
à épaisseur variable permet de
former sur la surface un dessin
symétrique caractéristique en
découpe diagonale. Le résultat
est toujours imprévisible, et
rend chaque pièce absolument
unique.

un suo pezzo del quale esistevano fi no a
oggi pochissimi esemplari. Il tavolino “Bird”,
progetto emblematico della poetica naturale
e organica di Wirkkala. Una forma sinuosa,
essenziale e astratta al contempo, ispirata
alla silhouette di un volatile, tema
ricorrente nella sua opera di scultore
oltre che di designer, accanto alla
conchiglia, al ghiaccio, alle foglie.
Poltrona Frau ha studiato per la pri-
ma volta la realizzazione in serie del
tavolino, aff rontando una vera sfi da
produttiva. Di grande complessità la
lavorazione del piano. La stratifi ca-
zione di fogli di tranciato di betulla a
spessore variabile permette di forma-
re in superfi cie un caratteristico dise-
gno simmetrico a taglio diagonale. Il
risultato non è mai prevedibile e rende
unico ogni singolo pezzo.
CONCEPT
A hundred years since the birth of Tapio
Wirkkala (1915-1985), an important fi gure in
Finnish art and design, Poltrona Frau revisits
a piece of which, until now, only a handful of
examples existed. The “Bird” side table is a
project that symbolises Wirkkala’s natural
and organic poetry. A sinuous shape, at the
same time simple yet abstract, the piece is in-
spired by the silhouette of a bird, a recurring
theme in Wirkkala’s work as a sculptor and
designer, along with shells, ice and leaves.
For the fi rst time, Poltrona Frau has mass-
produced the side table and faced a real ma-
nufacturing challenge in doing so. The wor-
kmanship on the surface is highly complex.
The strata of layers of cut birch wood of
varying thicknesses create a characteristic
symmetrical and diagonal surface design.
The result is unpredictable, making each
piece unique.

Zum hundertsten Geburtstag von Tapio
Wirkkala (1915-1985), Schlüsselfi gur der
fi nnischen Design- und Kunstwelt, legt Pol-
trona Frau einen seiner Entwürfe, von dem
es bisher nur wenige Exemplare gab, neu
auf. Tischchen "Bird", symbolhaftes Projekt
der natürlichen und organischen Poetik von
Wirkkala. Eine geschwungene, essentielle
und gleichzeitig abstrakte, von der Silhou-
ette eines Vogels inspirierte Form. Neben
Muschel, Eis und Blättern ein wiederkehren-
des Thema in den Arbeiten des Künstlers,
der nicht nur als Designer, sondern auch als
Bildhauer tätig war.
Zum ersten Mal hat Poltrona Frau eine Se-
rienproduktion des Tischchens ins Auge
gefasst, die sich als echte Herausforde-
rung erweisen sollte. Die Verarbeitung der
Tischplatte ist höchst komplex. Dank der
Schichtung von Birken-Messerfurnierblät-
tern mit variabler Dicke lässt sich an der
Oberfl äche ein charakteristisches symmetri-
sches Design mit diagonalem Schnitt erzie-
len. Das Ergebnis ist stets unvorhersehbar
und macht jedes Exemplar zum Einzelstück.

La delicata opera di ebanisteria
si completa con l’inserto conico
in tranciato di betulla, che corre
al centro del piano per tutta
la lunghezza. Questo elemento,
verniciato nero, crea un incisivo segno
grafi co che si prolunga nel sostegno
curvato in legno massello di betulla,
elegante richiamo visivo al becco
del trampoliere. Massello di betulla
in colore nero anche per l’altro
sostegno, che defi nisce ulteriormente
la fi gura del volatile.
La fi nitura del piano, a base
di oli naturali e cere, è un coprente
biologico e trasparente che esalta
la bellezza del legno.
Le travail délicat d’ébénisterie se
complète par un insert conique
en bouleau tranché, qui parcourt
le centre du plateau sur toute sa
longueur. Cet élément, peint en noir,
crée un signe graphique incisif qui
se prolonge dans le soutien cintré en
bouleau massif, rappelant de manière
élégante le bec de l’échassier. L’autre
soutien, qui défi nit encore mieux la
fi gure de l’oiseau, est lui aussi en
bouleau massif peint en noir.
La fi nition du plateau, à base d’huiles
naturelles et de cires, est un vernis
biologique et transparent qui met en
valeur la beauté du bois.
The delicate furniture craftsmanship
is completed with the conical insert
of cut birch that runs though
the centre along the entire length
of the top. This feature, painted black,
creates an incisive graphic symbol
that continues in the curved solid
birch leg, an elegant visual reference
to the beak of a wading bird.
The second leg is made out of black-
painted solid birch wood and further
defi nes the bird’s shape.
The natural oil and wax-based surface
fi nish is organic and transparent,
enhancing the beauty of the wood.

Piétement en frêne massif fi nition havane et
plateau en marbre Gris Rome semi-brillant
pour les deux tables grandes et bas-
ses, de formes rectangulaire et
circulaire. Le sous-plateau est
en bouleau multiplis peint en
noir. Variations matériques dans
les deux tables rondes plus pe-
tites et hautes. Le piétement en
acier bruni et brossé s’harmoni-
se avec élégance avec le plate-
au revêtu de cuir Cuoio Saddle
Extra. La table la plus basse est
aussi disponible avec le dessus
en marbre ‘Gris Rome’. Le sous-
plateau est en acier peint en
noir. La petite table monolithe

in Cuoio Saddle Extra. Il tavolino più
basso è disponibile anche con top in
marmo Grigio Roma. Il sottopiano è in
acciaio verniciato nero. Scolpito in-
teramente in marmo Grigio Roma con
fi nitura semilucida, il tavolino mono-
lite che completa la collezione. Il top
è circolare e il sostegno è caratte-
rizzato da uno scenografi co scavo-
impugnatura che rende il tavolino fa-
cilmente spostabile. A unire fra loro i
due elementi una struttura in acciaio
invisibile.

rectangular or round versions, feature a solid
ash base in a Havana brown fi nish and a semi-
glossy Grigio Roma marble top. The lower shelf
is in black painted birch plywood. Material

side tables. The polished and burnished steel
base combines elegantly with the top uphol-
stered in Cuoio Saddle Extra leather. The lo-
wer table is also available with a Grigio Roma
marble top. The lower shelf is in black painted
steel. Sculpted entirely from Grigio Roma mar-
ble with a semi-glossy fi nish, the monolithic
side table completes the collection. The top is
round and the support is characterised by a
striking handle-groove that makes it easy to
move the side table. An invisible steel frame
unites the two elements.

Une table sculpturale, presque primordiale.
Une icône de pureté formelle conçue en 1985
par Lella et Massimo Vignelli et rééditée
aujourd’hui par Poltrona Frau. Mesa est née
de la juxtaposition de deux formes géométri-
ques simples : un cercle et un cône.
Le plateau est en ardoise de Ligurie qui,
grâce au travail traditionnel de
clivage, maintient sur sa surfa-
ce des rugosités et des veinu-
res naturelles. La colonne por-
tante est en pierre de Florence
de couleur grise. L’ensemble se
présente comme un monolithe
matérique, plein et consistant,
mais à la fois léger. Un sous-
plateau en tôle d’acier bruni
donne encore plus de stabilité
et de résistance. À la base du
soutien en pierre est inséré un
embout façonné en matière pla-
stique noire.

pietra serena di colore grigio. L’insie-
me appare come un monolite materico,
consistente e pieno, ma al tempo stes-
so leggero. Un sottopiano in lamiera di
acciaio brunito dà ulteriore stabilità e
resistenza. Alla base del sostegno in
pietra è inserito un puntale sagomato
in materiale plastico nero.
CONCEPT
A sculpted, almost primitive table, this icon
of formal purity was fi rst designed in 1985
by Lella and Massimo Vignelli and has now
been revisited by Poltrona Frau. Mesa table
combines the two simple geometric shapes
of a circle and a cone.
The top is composed of Ligurian slate which,
thanks to the traditional splitting techni-
que, retains the rock’s natural grooves and
lines on the surface. The supporting column
is made from grey Pietra Serena sandsto-
ne. The overall eff ect is a physical monolith
which is solid and compact yet light at the
same time. A burnished sheet steel surface
base gives the surface additional stability
and strength, whilst the base of the sto-
ne support is fi nished with a shaped tip of
black plastic.

Ein plastischer, fast ursprünglicher Tisch.
Eine Ikone formaler Reinheit, die im Jahre
1985 von Lella und Massimo Vignelli entwor-
fen und nun von Poltrona Frau neu aufgelegt
wurde. Mesa entsteht aus dem Nebeneinan-
der zweier einfacher geometrischer Formen -
Kreis und Kegel.
Die Tischplatte besteht aus ligurischem
Schiefer, der dank der traditionellen Spal-
tung seine natürlichen Furchen und Ma-
serungen auf der Oberfl äche bewahrt hat.
Die Tragsäule ist aus grauem Pietra Sere-
na-Sandstein. Das Ensemble erscheint als
plastischer, konsistenter und voller, aber
gleichzeitig auch leichter Monolith. Die Un-
terplatte aus brüniertem Stahlblech sorgt
für zusätzliche Stabilität und Robustheit.
An der Basis der Halterung aus Stein ist
eine geformte Kappe aus schwarzem Kunst-
stoff material angebracht.

Roberto Lazzeroni dessine sa propre vision,
aérienne et légère, du lit à baldaquin clas-
sique. Son design précis donne forme à une
structure imposante, luxueuse quant aux
matières naturelles employées et aux détails
d’exécution, mais discrète et
mesurée. Une oasis de confort
et de repos, idéale au centre de
la pièce et dans des chambres
spacieuses. Un objet chaleu-
reux et accueillant grâce à ses
couleurs, à ses rembourrages
et aux alliages entre le cuir, le
bois et le tissu.
La structure à baldaquin, en
frêne massif à section triangu-
laire avec fi nition moka, fuselée
vers le haut et s’allège progres-
sivement. Le pied de lit et les
longerons sont en tulipier en-
tièrement revêtus de cuir Cuoio
Saddle Extra ou de cuir Pelle
Frau® comme la tête de lit, qui
est en hêtre et bouleau multi-
plis.

rea e leggera del classico letto a baldacchi-
no. Il design puntuale dà forma a una strut-
tura importante, lussuosa nelle lavorazioni e
nei materiali naturali, ma discreta e misurata.
Un’oasi di comfort e riposo perfet-
ta per il centro stanza e per gli ampi
spazi. Un oggetto caldo e accoglien-
te nei colori, nelle imbottiture e negli
accostamenti fra pelle, cuoio, legno e
tessuto.
La struttura a baldacchino, in mas-
sello di frassino a sezione triangolare
con fi nitura moka, rastremata verso
l’alto alleggerendosi progressivamen-
te.Pediera e longheroni sono in legno
toulipier interamente rivestiti in Cuoio
Saddle Extra o Pelle Frau® come la te-
stata, realizzata in faggio e multistra-
to di betulla.
CONCEPT
Roberto Lazzeroni outlines a light and airy
vision of the classic four-poster bed. His
design is for a large structured bed, luxuri-
ous in terms of its workmanship and natural
materials, yet at the same time discrete and
sparing. It is a warm and welcoming bed, an
oasis of comfort and relaxation, perfect for
the middle of the room and for big spaces.
The triangular profi le solid ash wood four-
poster structure gradually thins and lights
towards the top. The nocturnal and elegant
moka fi nish on the ash combines perfectly
with the natural, vibrant tones of the leather
that cover the other elements. The footboard
and bed frame boards are in tulipwood, en-
tirely upholstered in Cuoio Saddle Extra or
Pelle Frau® leather, as is the beech and birch
plywood headboard.
KONZEPT
Roberto Lazzeroni präsentiert seine luf-
tig-leichte Version des klassischen Himmel-
betts. Das punktgenaue Design bringt eine
imposante Struktur hervor, die sich in der
Verarbeitung und in den natürlichen Materi-
alien üppig zeigt, aber dennoch dezent und
unaufdringlich wirkt. Eine komfortable Ru-
heoase, die in der Zimmermitte und in großen
Räumen am besten zur Geltung kommt. Dank
seiner Farben, Polsterungen und der spezi-
ellen Kombination aus Weich- und Hartleder,
Holz und Stoff en ein überaus gemütliches
und einladendes Möbel.
Die Baldachin-Struktur aus Massivesche mit
dreieckigem Querschnitt mit Mokka-Finish
ist nach oben verjüngt und wird somit in der
Höhe zunehmend leichter. Fußende und Sei-
tenteile sind aus Tulipier und wie das Kop-
fende aus Multischicht-Birkenholz zur Gänze
mit Cuoio Saddle Extra- oder Pelle Frau®-Le-
der bezogen.

CONCEPT
Un design calibré et harmonieux pour ce lit
d’une élégance mesurée. Une vision de grand
équilibre, qui donne une importance parti-
culière à la tête de lit, dont la forme est ar-
rondie. Composée d’un cadre en peuplier et
hêtre massifs avec un rembourrage à densi-
té diff érenciée, elle est légèrement inclinée,
et rendue encore plus confortable par des
coussins, pour favoriser non
seulement le repos mais aussi la
lecture.
Une géométrie enveloppante et
protective comme une coquille,
naturellement complétée par les
lignes essentielles de la base et
du tour de lit, en peuplier multi-
plis avec un léger rembourrage
en mousse de polyuréthane et
ouate de polyester. Un arrondi
délicat, que l’on retrouve dans
les pieds en aluminium fi nition
canon de fusil.

A calibrated and harmoniously designed bed
of measured elegance. A vision of great bal-
ance, putting particularly emphasis on the
characteristically rounded headrest. Com-
posed of a solid poplar and beech frame
with mixed-density padding, it is slightly in-
clined and made even more comfortable by
the cushions which facilitate an easy reading
position as well as relaxation.
An enveloping and protective shell-like ge-
ometry which fi nds its natural completion
in the simple lines of the base and frame,
the bed is realised in poplar plywood and is
lightly padded with polyurethane foam and
polyester wadding. The delicate rounded
shapes are reciprocated in the gun-metal
aluminium feet.

profond et tridimensionnel, dont la beauté
est soulignée par des traitements complète-
ment naturels. Le résultat est une expérience
sensorielle magnétique, qui évoque des pay-

mm. Le cuir Pelle Frau® Safari,
soutenu et riche tout en ayant
une douceur accentuée, revêt
Archibald Gran Comfort en des-
sinant des plis et des courbes
très larges. Pour obtenir ce cuir,
on choisit uniquement les peaux
qui ont la structure la plus
riche. La teinture à l’aniline est
accompagnée d’une phase de
lustrage exécutée en douceur
et beaucoup plus longtemps que
pour les traitements habituels.
Ce procédé spécial renforce le
grain naturel dans toutes ses
variations, de petit à moyen et
à grand. Les diff érences imper-
ceptibles et les imperfections
restent intactes, en rendant
chaque revêtement absolument
unique.
Pour préserver la beauté du
cuir Pelle Frau® Safari, il est
préférable de ne pas l’exposer
à la lumière directe du soleil
ni aux sources de chaleur. Sur
ce cuir particulièrement déli-
cat, les taches accidentelles
ne peuvent pas être éliminées.
Nous vous conseillons d’enlever
régulièrement la poussière avec
un chiff on blanc non abrasif et
sec. Pour le nettoyage, utiliser
un chiff on doux et blanc, légèrement
humide. Essuyer ensuite avec un chif-
fon doux et sec. Ne jamais utiliser d’al-
cool ni d’autres solvants.

tintura all’anilina viene accompagnata
da una fase di bottalatura eseguita

ghi rispetto alle consuete lavorazioni.
Questo speciale procedimento esalta
la grana naturale in tutte le sue va-
riazioni, da piccola, a media, a grande.
Impercettibili diff erenze e imperfezio-
ni restano intatte rendendo unico ogni
rivestimento.
Per preservare il fascino di Pelle
Frau® Safari è bene non esporla alla
luce diretta del sole e a fonti di calo-
re. Le macchie accidentali, su questa
pelle particolarmente delicata, non
sono rimovibili. Si consiglia di rimuo-
vere frequentemente la polvere con un
panno bianco non abrasivo asciutto.
La pulizia va eff ettuata con un panno
leggermente umido, morbido e bianco.
Asciugare quindi con un panno morbi-
do e asciutto. Non vanno mai utilizzati

grain leather with an extremely evident,
deep and three-dimensional grain, enhanced
by the completely natural workings to create
a magnetic sensory experience, reminiscent

The thickness varies between 3 and 4 mm.
Substantial yet with a pronounced softness
at the same time, Pelle Frau® Safari dresses
Archibald Gran Comfort with folds and wide
curves. Only pelts with the most substan-
tial structures are chosen to produce this
leather. The aniline dye is accompanied by a
milling process executed gently and over a
much longer period than for standard leath-
er-working. This special process enhances
the natural grain in all its variations, from
small, to medium, to large. Imperceptible dif-

making each piece of upholstery unique.
To preserve the charm of Pelle Frau® Safari,
avoid exposure to direct sunlight and heat
sources. Accidental stains on this particu-
larly delicate leather are not removable. It
is recommended to dust the leather regu-
larly using a dry non-abrasive white cloth.
To clean, use a damp, soft and white cloth.
Dry with a soft dry cloth. Never use alcohol
or solvent-based products.

Diese spezielle Vorgehensweise bringt die
natürliche Narbung in all ihren Variationen
- klein, mittel und groß - zur Geltung. Kaum
wahrnehmbare Unterschiede und Unregelmä-
ßigkeiten bleiben intakt und machen jeden
Bezug zum Unikat.
Damit Pelle Frau® Safari seine Faszination be-
wahrt, sollte es keinem direkten Sonnenlicht
und keinen Hitzequellen ausgesetzt werden.
Versehentliche Flecken können auf diesem
besonders empfi ndlichen Leder nicht entfernt
werden. Etwaigen Staub bitte regelmäßig mit
einem weißen, nicht scheuernden und trocke-
nen Tuch abwischen. Die Reinigung darf nur

La noblesse du ‘cuoietto fi orentino’, sa bril-
lance et sa structure soutenue, unies à une
agréable douceur et à un toucher velouté.
Une matière que Poltrona Frau réserve aux
pièces dont le design est le plus sec et li-
néaire, ainsi qu’aux réalisations capitonnées.
Le cuir pleine fl eur est teint à l’aniline en
tonneau, puis soumis à des pro-
cédés élaborés qui lui donnent
l’aspect lisse et le toucher
compact des précieux ’cuoietti’
utilisés dans la maroquinerie la
plus luxueuse.
En particulier la phase de sé-
chage est exécutée lentement,
en trois passages diff érents:
palissonnage, séchage sous
vide, et mise au vent. Un trai-
tement délicat, qui donne au
cuir la structure et la richesse
des ‘cuoietti’ toscans et une
couche protectrice légère et
naturelle.
Dans tous les cas, la beauté du
cuir a besoin d’être protégée : il
ne faut l’exposer ni à la lumière
directe du soleil ni aux sources
de chaleur. Il s’agit d’une ma-
tière particulièrement délicate,
sur laquelle les taches acci-
dentelles ne peuvent pas être
éliminées. Nous vous conseil-
lons d’enlever régulièrement
la poussière, avec un chiff on

più lussuosa. In particolare, la fase di
asciugatura viene eseguita lentamente
attraverso tre diff erenti passaggi: re-
torsa, sottovuoto e al vento. Un trat-
tamento delicato che dona alla pelle
la struttura e la corposità dei cuoietti
toscani e un leggero e naturale strato
protettivo.
La bellezza di Pelle Frau® Cuoietto va
comunque protetta, non esponendo
la pelle alla luce diretta del sole e a
fonti di calore. Si tratta di un materiale
particolarmente delicato, dal quale le
macchie accidentali non sono elimina-
bili. Si consiglia di rimuovere frequen-
temente la polvere con un panno bian-
co non abrasivo asciutto. La pulizia va
eff ettuata con un panno leggermente
umido, morbido e chiaro. Asciugare
quindi con un panno altrettanto mor-
bido ma asciutto. Non vanno mai utiliz-
zati alcool o altri solventi.
The class, shine and supportive structure of
traditional Tuscan cuoietto leather are united
with a pleasant softness and a velvety feel.
Poltrona Frau reserves this material for its
most linear and sober furnishings and for
buttoned upholstery.
The full-grain leather is treated in casks with
an aniline dye before being subjected to elab-
orate processes to achieve its smooth aspect
and the hand-crafted style of the most pre-
cious cuoietto leathers of the luxury leather
goods sector. In particular, the drying phase
is completed slowly through three diff erent
stages: rotary machine, vacuum and air-dry-
ing. This delicate treatment gives the leather
the structure and body of Tuscan cuoietto
leathers as well as a light and natural protec-
tive layer.
The beauty of Pelle Frau® Cuoietto leather
must nonetheless be protected and the mate-
rial should not be exposed to direct sunlight
or heat sources. It is a particularly delicate
material and as such accidental stains can-
not be removed. It is recommended to dust
the leather regularly using a dry non-abrasive
white cloth. To clean, use a damp, soft and
light-coloured cloth. Dry with a soft dry cloth.
Never use alcohol or solvent-based products.

und in drei Durchgängen: Spannrahmen-, Va-
kuum- und Lufttrocknung. Eine sanfte Bear-
beitung, die dem Leder die Struktur und das
Volumen des toskanischen Cuoietto-Leders
sowie eine leichte und natürliche Schutz-
schicht verleiht.
Die Schönheit des Pelle Frau® Cuoietto-Le-
ders muss jedoch geschützt werden, indem
es keinem direkten Sonnenlicht und keinen
Hitzequellen ausgesetzt wird. Es handelt sich
um ein besonders empfi ndliches Material,
aus dem versehentliche Flecken nicht ent-
fernt werden können. Etwaigen Staub bitte
regelmäßig mit einem weißen, nicht scheu-
ernden und trockenen Tuch abwischen. Die
Reinigung darf nur mit einem nebelfeuchten,
weichen und hellen Tuch erfolgen. Danach mit
