Polar Ecosystems

These are the coldest places on Earth. They are covered in ice and snow. The Arctic is a large frozen area in the north and the Antarctic is a large icy continent in the south.

Polar bears never eat penguins – can you think why?

Polar bears live in the Arctic and penguins live in the Antarctic, so they never meet!

You will need to decide which of the two polar regions to do as a collage. Research to discover the other animals that live there and how they are adapted to the habitat.

Rainforest Ecosystems

Rainforests are found in many different parts of the world (all the areas shown in dark green on the map). They are warm and wet regions full of tall trees and leafy plants. Rainforests are so full of wonderful plants and animals that some plants and animals have not even been discovered yet!

Research some rainforest animals to put in your collage.

They are also called marine ecosystems. Oceans and seas make up over two thirds of the world’s surface (about 70%). Oceans contain salt water and they are home to thousands of amazing different creatures and beautiful seaweed. Research some different marine creatures to put in your collage.
