Poland Evangelical Mission May 2017 A Fifth Level of Participation When we at PEM talk about levels of participation, we are talking about five different ways a church can be involved in ministry in Poland. Interestingly, individuals can also be involved in three of those ways (numbered in red): 1. Pray regularly for the various ministries with which PEM is involved. 2. Invite PEM to bring a Polish guest to your church periodically. 3. Give financially regularly to: PEM’s General Fund, a Polish Christian worker, or to a special project. 4. Send a vision team, work team or ministry team to Poland. 5. Enter into a Strategic Partnership with a PEM-related ministry in Poland. It involves developing an in-depth, on-going relationship with a ministry in Poland, which includes: a) taking on a significant portion of a Christian worker’s salary for a time, b) sending a work or ministry team to Poland every few years, and c) bringing the Christian worker to your church every few years. The outcome will be that a strong bond of friendship is forged, and effective ministry for both groups results. This makes missions in the local church more than giving money and receiving an occasional missionary letter. It makes it about sharing in life and ministry together, and making your church and the Polish ministry stronger as an outcome. Interested? Contact us for more information! Polish evangelical churches are examples of outreach! Encouraging report from the church in Zamość. This city is located in the southeast of Poland, near the Ukraine border. Here, in their own words, is what they recently did: “Some brothers from our church took a day off to help giving out food to the poorest. This time they had two full trucks of food, and 3,000 people received our help. We also attached tracts, so the gospel was spread in 35 small towns and villages.” The larger group of men with whom the Zamość men worked. The trucks which were used to deliver the food. “Within the framework of our men’s meeting we decided to do something more than just pray and preach. We visited an elderly woman who lives alone in an old and worn house. It took us three hours to paint and refresh the walls. We were excited when we saw a smile on her face because this is what godliness is all about.” Let’s pray that their good deeds would give them opportunity to share Christ. A Fifth Level of ParticipationWhen we at PEM talk about levels of participation, we are talking about five different ways a church can be involved in ministry

in Poland. Interestingly, individuals can also be involved in three of those ways (numbered in red):1. Pray regularly for the various ministries with which PEM is involved.

2. Invite PEM to bring a Polish guest to your church periodically.3. Give financially regularly to: PEM’s General Fund, a Polish Christian worker, or to a special project.

4. Send a vision team, work team or ministry team to Poland.

5. Enter into a Strategic Partnership with a PEM-related ministry in Poland. It involves developing an in-depth, on-going relationship with a ministry in Poland, which includes: a) taking on a

significant portion of a Christian worker’s salary for a time, b) sending a work or ministry team to Poland every few years, and c) bringing the Christian worker to your church every few years.

The outcome will be that a strong bond of friendship is forged, and effective ministry for both groups results. This makes missions in the local church more than giving money and receiving an occasional missionary letter.

It makes it about sharing in life and ministry together, and making your church and the Polish ministry stronger as an outcome.

Polish evangelical churches are examples of outreach!Encouraging report from the church in Zamość.

This city is located in the southeast of Poland, near the Ukraine border. Here, in their own words, is what they recently did:“Some brothers from our church took a day off to help giving out food to the poorest. This time they had two full trucks of food,

and 3,000 people received our help. We also attached tracts, so the gospel was spread in 35 small towns and villages.”

The larger group of men with whom the Zamość men worked. The trucks which were used to deliver the food.“Within the framework of our men’s meeting we decided to do something more than just pray and preach. We visited an

elderly woman who lives alone in an old and worn house. It took us three hours to paint and refresh the walls. We were excited when we saw a smile on her face because this is what godliness is all about.”

Let’s pray that their good deeds would give them opportunity to share Christ.

Bible Week to celebrate 500 years since the Reformation.

The recently renovated Pszczyna Castle will be the site used for a Bible exhibition. The traveling exhibition of the Bible (also used by Cezary Komisarz in Nowogard a few months ago) tells the story of the

Bible’s origins. It features copies of various ancient texts, shows the 3500 year journey of writing the Bible, and shows why we can depend on it as a guide for our lives. This presentation is drawing a lot of attention wherever it is used. For the first time

Bible Week will be advertised in the official County Information Booklet for 2017. It is likely to also attract television coverage. The evangelical churches that participate in Bible Week are prepared to distribute 500 copies of the Bible and 1,000 gospels. Also during Bible Week, which actually runs from May 27th - June 11th, there will be concerts and street evangelism events

in five or six cities, sponsored this year by four participating churches. Please pray that God would use these events to draw people to himself.

Update on giving for the Kyle Wilson Worship Center. This building exists, in large part, because Dr. Wilson responded to the need and opportunity he saw

at Camp Eden. He knew their ministry goals and financial dilemma, and took action.Giving to date: $14,860
