With the groundhog seeing his shadow and spring cleaning upon us, this should include refresh-

ing your professional and personal well-being. Just going through an ac-quisition at my company, it is good on an annual basis to look at your resume and refresh it. You may not need it but there is something to be said about making these changes while they are fresh in your mind. Many of my col-leagues hadn’t looked at their resume in 20 years. If you are looking for a new job or looking for someone for an openposition,ISMNJoffersaspartofour website a “Job Opportunity” page, which can help. It is also good to do a skill assess-mentonyourself.ISMoffersatooltohelp called “ISM Mastery Model”. My challenge is that it asked about what my competency is and what my sub-competency is. This was a little of a challenge for me to identify as I felt all of at-tributes were my competencies. That being said, I did feel that it was very good in helping me think about competencies that I wouldn’t have normally thought of as a Supply Chain competency. Fi-nance is one of those. What we need to know really improves the “value add” we bring to our organizations. As you read through the Janu-ary/February “Inside Supply Chain” Magazine, there was a question on how we can better align and work together withfinance.OurSupplyManagementForum on Friday March 18 will go into more detail on how we can do this bet-

Dr. Rodolf Leuschner will be speaking on the complexity of supply chainfinanceintodayenvironment.Wewill be ending the day with an exercise on Supply Chain Disruption and Spend Analytics. Some really great and timely topics…great job to the Supply Man-agement Forum Committee!!! I feel like I have been hibernating in the winter and haven’t seen many of you. I am sorry about that and can’t wait for our next meeting to catch up!!! Happy Spring!!!

8:30 a.m. – Opening Remarks: Debo-rah Augustus, CPSM, Vice President Business Development, ISM-New Jersey

Welcome: Dr. Lei Lei, Professor and Dean, Rutgers Business SchoolSupplier Risk - Kevin Giblin, Global Head of Sourcing & Procurement, Dun & Bradstreet Procurement teams are continually challenged by their own stakeholders to demonstrate value. Often overlooked are the broader challenges of ensuring post-contractefficiencyfromthesupplybase. Mitigating risk in the supply chain is crucial, but there are many layers of risk.

Do you have challenges in managing supplier risk? Misaligned metrics? Lack of leadership support? Challenges with obtaining good supplier data?

In this session, you’ll hear about best practices to create strong linkages between Sourcing and Supplier Re-lationship Management (SRM), and moving SRM from a compliance centric management process to a collaborative value generation approach.

You’ll hear practical examples of tackling real world challenges of sup-ply chain risk, and strategies that have helped drive a solution. You will learn how to mitigate supplier risks, enable moreeffectivesuppliermanagementand giving business owners a view of what “next level procurement” can do to enhance the supplier experience across the organization.

10:00 a.m. Supply Chain Finance - Rudolf Leuschner, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Rutgers Business School

Today’s global supply chains have become increasingly complex, not only intheproductandinformationflow,

Ph.D., Associate Professor, Rutgers Business School and the Director of Supply Chain Disruption Research Laboratory

Do inter-functional groups make better supplier selection decisions? Or is it simplybetterandmoreefficienttoal-lowthemostqualifiedpersontomakesupplier selection decisions? During this interactive exercise, you will play the role of one of decision makers in a groupthathastodecideamongfinalistsuppliers for a large contract. As part of the exercise, we discuss how and why some groups may have decided on a dif-ferent supplier than others.
