1 Poetry Pad Directions and Assessment Information Name______________________________ Block_______Date___________________ Poetry reflects itself through many avenues: song lyrics, music, cards, journals, and letters. Through poetry, one is able to express himself or herself, sometimes in an indirect way. Poetry can be fun, it can be sentimental, or it can be pensive. In this assignment, you will write five (5) poems (each with a different flavor) AND 3 haiku AND 2 limericks. Be creative with your Poetry Pad. You may mount your poems on a poster board or make a booklet of your poems. You may decorate your POETRY PAD with pictures, construction paper, or scrap booking materials. Additionally, each of you will choose and present your favorite poem to the class. Each poem is worth 20 points with the exception of the limericks and haiku which are each worth 10 points. The directions for writing each of the poems and the assessment for each poem are on the back of the poetry box. Also, sample poems are attached for your reading pleasure.
