You left me, sweet, two legacies

• You left me, sweet, two legacies,--

A legacy of love

A Heavenly Father would content,

Had He the offer of;

You left me boundaries of pain

Capacious as the sea,

Between eternity and time,

Your consciousness and me.

Bruised Lyrics • I've got my things, I'm good to go

You met me at the terminalJust one more plane ride and it's done

We stood like statues at the gateVacation's come and gone too lateThere's so much sun where I'm fromI had to give it away, had to give you away

And we spent four days on anIsland at your family's old hotelSometimes perfection can beIt can be perfect hell, perfect...

Hours pass, and she still counts the minutesThat I am not there, I swear I didn't meanFor it to feel like thisLike every inch of me is bruised, bruisedAnd don't fly fast. Oh, pilot can you help me?Can you make this last? This plane is all I gotSo keep it steady, nowCause every inch you see is bruised

I lace my Chucks, I walk the aisleI take my pills, the babies cryAll I hear is what's playing throughThe in-flight radioNow every word of every songI ever heard that made me wanna stayIs what's playing throughThe in-flight radio, and IAnd I am, finally waking up

(CHORUS)

So read your books, but stay out lateSome nights, some nights, and don't

thinkThat you can't stop by the barYou haven't shown your face here since

the bad newsWell I'm here till close, with fingers

crossedEach night cause your place isn't farAnd hours pass, and hours pass, yeah, yeah...

Yeah, yeah, she still counts the minutesThat I am not there, I swear I didn't

meanFor it to feel like thisLike every inch of me is bruised, bruisedAnd don't fly fast. Oh, pilot can you

help me?Can you make this last? This plane is all

I gotSo keep it steady, nowCause every inch you see is bruised,

bruised, bruised

Andrew McMahon

• (September 3, 1982) He is the vocalist, pianist and primary songwriter for the bands Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin.

• Left Something Corporate so he could go with Jack's Mannequin. • His songs dealt with leaving home for his career, and abandoning a lot of people that

he had normally been attached to. He also wrote about not having to make excuses for who he is.

• On May 27, 2005, McMahon was forced to cancel all of his upcoming concerts. He had a case of laryngitis and was admitted to a hospital in New York City, where he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on June 1, 2005.

• Since the illness was diagnosed in its early stages, he was able to fully recover. McMahon received various types of treatment, and continued to keep in touch with his fans on his condition. August 23, 2005 was the day his album Everything in Transit was released. It was #37 of the Billboard 200 with over 22,000 copies scanned within its first week.

• He then proceeded to compose his second Jack's Mannequin album, The Glass Passenger, September 30, 2008. The first single, "The Resolution", is the band's highest-charting song to date. The album debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200.
