HOW IT ALL STARTED?
THE CREATION OF THE PROJECT:
• A public invitation by the Ministry of Tourism to tender for thePromotion and Strengtening of Competences in VocationalOccupations in Tourism in 2019.
• GOAL:
• Promotion of occupations in tourism
CREATIVE AND INOVATIVE CREATION OF A TOURISTIC PRODUCT CONNECTED TO
THE HISTORY OF THE POŽEGA-SLAVONIA
COUNTY
BEGINNING
• The task for students was to: THINK OF HOW TO PRESENT THE
AREA THE BEST

PARTICIPANTS IN THE PROJECT:
12 STUDENTS

2 PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS
STEP BY STEP:
1. Creation of an authentic recipe for „Požega cookie”.
2. The ingredients are walnuts and some
lard.
3. Selection of motives i.e. features of the Požega area and/or a historical figure that marks the area (seven motives were chosen).
IN COOPERATION WITH THE EMPLOYEES OF THE TOWN MUSEUM IN POŽEGA AND TOURISM ASSOCIATION OF
THE TOWN OF POŽEGA
4. Mould fabrication of chosen motives.
5. Students with professional gastronomy teachers’ assistance weremaking the cookies.
6. The cookies were packed separately in transparent foil with a “certificate” attached that describes the motiv and its historicalsignificance.
7. For the promotion of the cookie the Facebook profile of theschool was created.
8. The posters and brochures for promotional purposes were made, in Croatian as well as in English.
9. During „Doors Open Day of Obrtnička škola”, in May 2019. and thepromotion of occupations in tourism, the pupils of the 8th grade in Požega-Slavonia County were presented the very same processof making of „the Požega cookie”.
10. The event was accompanied by media(Slavonsko-brodska televizija, portal Požega.eu, newspapers Požeška kronika and Glas Slavonije).

11. We participated with “Požega cookie” at the renowned festival in Požega (Aurea Fest 29.8.-1.9.2019.) and we needed the brochuresin English for guests and visitors of the festival. We also handed outthe promotional material of our school together with the cookie.
CONCLUSION:
The market has accepted this type of traditional legacy of the Požega area extremely well and therefore encouraged us to continueactivities and projects like these in the future.
