Wi-tribe: Organizational design, structure, linking and alignment mechanism and its suitability with its strategy:

The current organizational design of Wi-tribe I think is very suitable for the company and is a right fit for the environment and its strategy as well.

Wi-tribe is an internet service provider company and it is important for any company like Wi-tribe to have close integration amongst its employees so therefore they can carry out a project and solve the number of problems which usually arise in a company of this type since there are no particular SOP’s when a project has to be implemented. The problem that is faced by Wi-tribe affects the company as a whole since there can be problem either with the fiber optics, the device or even at the back end because of PTCL.

So therefore for Wi-tribe to solve any of its problems regarding internet connection, the employees have to work to diagnose and solve the issue together and the matrix structure only strengthens this integration.

Company’s linking mechanism of cross-unit team is also a right fit for the company’s strategy as it only promotes the element of job rotation in the company giving its employees diverse experience and a chance to work on different projects along with providing a source of integration between employees.

The strategy of Wi-tribe is to be profitable while being customer focused and not compromising on quality and the service that is to be provided to the customers. The alignment mechanism of the company is in line with the company’s design and only reinforces its strategy.

Such as the company hires only the best human capital available in the market so therefore they are able to implement the strategy to its core. In Wi-tribe there is concept of cross-unit teams, employees get together as a team for the implementation of project and the company provides rewards and incentives not individually but to the team as a whole on the basis of its performance and work. Informal networks within company are very strong since it is a small company with a relatively loose and open kind of structure because of which employees are able to move around freely and casually without any particular restrictions. So this free movement of employees let them interact with each other openly providing a strong basis for informal network. On the other hand mosques, play area with snooker table and a smoking zone also helps build a strong informal network.

Meeting the customer’s requirement:

As far as meeting the requirements of customers is concerned, being customer centered is part of the mission statement of Wi-tribe which goes to show how much importance customers have for this particular company. Wi-tribe tries to meet the requirement of its customers through conducting market research regularly and getting feedback from them as well which is then

implemented upon by the company. Providing smart solution payment plan to the customers is also the company’s way of meeting its customer’s requirements.

Wi-tribe is a broadband company which has established a name for itself as being one of the best internet providers even winning the best retail competition award in the January of this year which shows how its unique go to market strategy coupled with its flexible subscription plans has helped beat other internet service providers in the country.
