BequestsThe simplest way to leave a legacy gift to the Land Conservancy is through a bequest in your will. You can leave a specific amount of cash or

property, a percentage of your entire estate, or the residual amount that remains after other bequests have been made.

Charitable Gift AnnuityThe charitable gift annuity is a great example of how a legacy gift can generate income for you. A gift annuity is actually a contract under

which the Land Conservancy, in return for a gift of cash or securities, agrees to make guaranteed payments to you for life. Upon termination of the charitable gift annuity, any remaining assets are contributed to the Land Conservancy.

Conservation is forever. Please consider a lasting gift.

The White Oak Legacy Society is a very special group of Land Conservancy supporters who have made a lasting

commitment to land protection through a variety of estate-planning tools, including bequests in a will or trust, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, IRA

designations or gifts of life insurance. Please consider joining this dedicated group of conservationists today.

Life EstateThe life estate is a way to leave a legacy gift by donating a gift of real estate to the Land Conservancy. The donor retains use and possession

of the property during his or her lifetime, but upon death the property automatically transfers to the Land Conservancy. This gift can provide potential tax benefits during the life of the donor and allows for transfer of the real estate upon death without the need for probate.

Retirement Plan BenefitsFew Americans realize that upon death a significant portion of their retirement plans such as an IRA or 401(k) may be distributed to the

federal and state government in the form of estate and income taxes. Instead, the Land Conservancy can be named as the designated beneficiary of all or part of the residual balance of qualified retirement plans. You can also take withdrawals from the plan to make outright or life-income gifts to the Land Conservancy.
