What’s Inside ?
Meeting Minutes The 671th Meeting of the Drifters Jeep Club called to order at 7:40 PM by President Vince Ruesch on Jan-uary 4, 2018 at the Finish Line Sports Bar.
Flag Salute was led by John Bur. Roll Call taken by Gary Parkin. 24 members 2 Qualifying Members 0 Guests attending.
Minutes: Read by Linda Torrey, and approved.
Treasurers report: See newsletter for details.
Bills to be paid: Florist $59.14. Raffle Tickets $14.06 both to Linda Torrey, Catering $351.00 to Jim Morrison.
Delegate/Conservation Report: The Ontario Jeep dealership which has always hosted the meeting no longer wants to do so, they don’t think they are get-ting any business from the relationship, so we are looking for a new venue for an 8-hour meeting for 40 people on Saturday Jan 27. Any recommendations?
Old Business: December Run: Christmas party 26 members and 7 guests were in attendance, since none of the trail bosses attended Gary Parkin was thoughtful enough to take attendance so members could receive credit for being at the event. Trail bosses take note – you are responsible for attendance records and the report on the event. The event was lots of fun, good food, good company and a great venue – thank you Steve and Jennifer Sturdevant.
January Run: Mike Bricker, Larry Patton, John Bur, and Ray Kimpton trail bosses. Will be Week-end of Jan 26/27/28 to Johnson Valley of Boone Val-ley Rd. Map will be in newsletter. Come for the weekend or come for the day. We will meet off Boone Rd, across the bridge of the wash on the right.
New Business: February Run: Jerry Torrey. Davin Gothard, Dave Gothard and Steve Sturdevant trail bosses. Super Bowl run to Glamis at Wash 4 Dates are February 3-4 and you are welcome to come early. Potluck party day of the game! Bring tables because we always
have lots of food and need a place to put it. Set up trail bosses will arrive on Wednesday.
March Run: Greg Cunningham March 9-10-11 Death Valley – Furnace Creek Ranch. Dry Camp, but there are flush toilets (no showers). Lots to do in the area including train museum, old mines and res-taurants. Camping is $14 per night unless you have the senior pass.
April Run: Danny Hankla is talking about Truck Haven as a possibility. Dates not chosen yet.
May Run: Group voted and decided not to produce the potato run because of lack of participation within our club. The group will instead donate the money we would usually have made on the event. Next month we will find out if the High Desert Round up will be our club run or not. The money paid to regis-ter is the biggest fundraiser of the event so that is a consideration.

Minutes Continued New Business (cont): Robby Leuer shared that his father, Bill passed away last week, and provided information for those who would like to participate in a celebration of his life
The Funeral will be on Jan 20th at 1:00pm at 105 W Big Springs Rd, Riverside, CA 92507
The Reception will be at 2:30pm at his amazing place. Please bring stories and empty stomachs. The address is 316 E. Blaine St, River-side, CA 92507.
Please send any pictures of Bill that you would like included in a DVD to David Meyer, who will put that together.
Jo Bricker reminded us that Trail Bosses need to meet with each other to plan the events. We have had at least one month where some of the trail bosses were totally left out of the planning process
Darryl Romano reported that 4WD Parts now has a club discount program that we can register for that offers 10-15% discount on 90% of their inventory. When the club reaches $4000 in sales then we start to qualify for gift certificates to us for our yearly raffle at the PPP. We voted to register for this except for Mark Bargman who asked to be left off the list.
The 50/50 of $72 was won by Greg Cunningham.
Meeting adjourned at 8:45 PM by Vince Reusch.
Next Meeting will be February 8th at 7:00 PM at the Finish Line Bar and Grill.
