    MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur, March 16 -

    Suspected haven of drugs and criminals in Marawi

    is under siege but the firepower of assaulting

    army are combined items of sweeping brooms,

    scholarship and livelihood offerings, medical

    services, medicines, and the least, consoling

    advises for a morally upright business alternative

    and way of life to take.

    First it was a literal clean-up drive along main

    thoroughfares in Marawi City as a way of impartingprogram thrust of the new PNP Provincial leadership. Now

    it goes deeper by dredging-out anti-social garbage away

    from the drench of hopeless miserable life in the illegal

    world of drugs and gambling.

    A new dimension of law enforcement is shaping public

    opinion that emphasizes a non-hostile approach of

    transforming the

    image of the PNP

    from being hostile

    and corrupt into

    smart, professional

    life-saving authority.In a letter sent

    to the Tactical

    Foundation

    yesterday, PNP

    Provincial Director

    PCSUPT Rodolfo

    Asejo Llorca has

    formally requested

    the assistance of

    TESDA Provincial /

    City Office, the Philippine National Red Cross-Marawi/Lanao

    Chapter and the Tactical Foundation Training andAssessment Center.

    The Clean Drive dubbed as "Kapamagugupa ko

    Kalilintad Ago Kapakausor o Kapagengud" is a peace and

    development inititative of the Philippine National Police-

    Lanao Sur Provincial Police Office in line with the

    commitment for a peaceful and progressive Islamic City of

    Marawi

    Llorca says, "This project may form part of the

    Undertaking we signed on March 8, 2011 which emphasizes

    reform agenda by means of productive non-confrontational

    approach to change."

    Cognizant of the socio-economic crises and its impact

    to the local people, the newly installed PNP Chief of the

    province has to gather all potential entities towards

    resolving a common problem.

    As the project is being slated, the forerunner called as

    the "Amazing

    Ladies" steered by

    Madayag and

    Tactical FoundationChief Executive

    Officer Bae Faridah

    Olama Adilao has

    teamed up with

    TESDA PD Mapandi

    and the PNRC

    Chairperson Raifa

    Raki-in Adiong in

    crafting a sustained

    transformation

    training of

    the PNP Personnel along with creating a

    harmonious efforts weeding out root causes of crimes in

    the community.

    Madayag has become the liaison and ground

    commander for the transformation program of the PNP in

    the province that effectively coordinating a dynamic

    network of top-ranking agencies with credible record of

    performance. She emphasized the importance of TESDA in

    bringing alternative solution to poverty, a legitimate

    livelihood or business venture rather than peddling drugs.

    The target community of today's Clean Drive is the so-

    called "Lumber" which is known to be a haven of drug

    peddlers in Marawi.

    In today's event TESDA will bring scholarship and

    livelihood offerings to the residents while the Red Cross and

    PNP medics will conduct the free medicines and medical

    services. The Tactical Foundation on it's part is taking

    charge of the documentation and information

    dissemination among others upon the internet assistance of
