PMP 450
• 4th Generation (4G) of PMP product family from Cambium• Dramatically increases overall system capacity
– Over 125 Mbps per Access Point – Over 1.5 Gbps of tower bandwidth possible – Can support any symmetrical or asymmetrical speed
• OFDM MIMO provides near Line of Sight (nLOS) and LOS access• Software defined radio design allows for rapid expansion of
frequency bands, both licensed and unlicensed• Utilizes GPS synching capability to achieve maximum spectral
efficiency and very low latency supporting VoIP and video• Installation and turn up in
days, not weeks or months

PMP 450 ADVANTAGES
Characteristic Cambium PMP Implications
Channel Access Scheduled TDD – Deterministic and Scalable regardless of load
Without scheduled TDD, users will complain about availability as subscribers are added.
Latency and QoSConsistent and Deterministic – critical for voice and video and T1 replacements
Without consistent latency, network users will complain about delays and poor performance.
GPS Synchronization Supported -> Efficient Channel Re-use / Easy Deployment. in Multi-Sector / Multi-Site systems
Unsynchronized systems perform inconsistently and poorly as subscribers are added. Use more channels to serve the same # of users
Throughput and System Capacity (bits/sec/Hz/sq km)
High ability for frequency reuse. Higher aggregate real user throughput and system capacity for given channel width and available spectrum.
Competitive systems require more AP towers to be added to meet demand – but this adds interference.
Select a solution that meets today’s needs and supports growth

GPS SYNCHRONIZATION
• AP and SM communication is synchronized (all APs and SMs have controlled alternating communication) – reducing self interference
– All SMs within a network– All APs within a cluster– All APs on a tower (multiple clusters)– All APs on all towers in the network
• Enables channel re-use and easy to deploy multi-sector, multi tower networks(minimal tower separation)
• Use the same number of channels to serve a higher number of users

MULTICAST VIRTUAL CIRCUIT
• New feature on PMP 450 enables multicast traffic to be properly prioritized
• Previously multicast packets were transmitted as part of the Broadcast VC (1X)
• If the Multicast VC is enabled, multicast packets can be transmitted downlink at a configurable data rate (1X, 2X, 4X, 6X) on a separate VC.
16
Enabled under Configuration Radio
Multicast Downlink CIR: Guaranteed multicast VC bandwidth, this includes the repeat count as part of the multicast bandwidth. This is calculated separately from the Broadcast CIR.

Feature Benefit
PMP 430 interoperability
Interoperability of PMP 450 AP and PMP 430 SM. A PMP 430 SM can register and co-exist in a PMP 450 sector
QPSK SISO mode The AP can transmit at 3 dB higher power, rate adapting down to QPSK SISO mode of operation when channel conditions demand it
256 QAMPMP 450 can rate adapt up to 256-QAM modulation rates (8x) when channel conditions allow it, giving a total of 125 Mbps capacity
Larger MTU (1700 bytes)
PMP 450 now supports up to 1700 byte packets, allowing the use of MPLS tags in the ethernet structure
Enhanced Link Test Statistics
Additional statistics are available after link test is run to better analyze the link
