Micfo. eel E (Johns-Manvil Products Corporation) IS a recommended absorbent powder. Generally less \han 2% by weight of MicrocaI E is required. DO NOT impregnate Command 4 E onlO straiQht coated ammoniUIn nitrate or straight limestone because these materials will noI absorb \he herbicide. Dry fertilizer blends containing mixtures of ammonium mate or Iimestot", may ba impregnated with Command.

The amount of Command actuaIy required in the preparation 01 individual fertifizer mixtures should be :Ietermined carefullt lor each production operation. SURPACB APPLICATIONS

Command 4 E herbicide may be applie~ to the soil surface where permitted (see General Application Precautions, Geographical Restrictions) alone, or in combination with other soil residual pre emergence herbicides register&d for use in conservation tillage soybeans. If weeds are present at the time of treatment, include a b1:Lndown herbicide to control or suppress existing weeds. Observe all application precautions, rate restrictions, rotational guidelines and replanting instructions of each product's label when using tank mixes.

EARJ,Y PREPLANT (EPP) APPLICATIONS

Where soil incorporated applications are required (see General Application Precautior.s, G~ographical Restrictions), Conmand 4 E herbicide may be surface applied under conservation tillage practices, but only as an early preplant (EPP) treatment. EPP applications of Command 4 E must be made prior to field green-up (Le., the time at which annual w(;eds are emerging at the ~~eatment site, and trees or shrubs bordering the treatment site have broken dormancy and a-e showing green leaf tissue) and r.o later than the dates list~d in the table below:

When applied EPP Command 4E herbicide may be used at rates of loS to 2.0 pints per acre (refer to RATBS AND WRBDS CONTROLLED under Northl!rn Area COMMAND 4B HERBICIDB APPLIED ALONB) alone, or in a tank mixture with vther herbicides registered for use in conservation tillage soybeans. If weeds are present at the time of treatment, tank mix with a bu~down herbicide to control or suppress existing weeds.

Observe all use directions, precautions and restrictions on the label of any herbicide(s) included in the tank mixture. When applying Command 4 E as an EPP treatment strictly observe all restrictions and precautions found in the Preemergent Applications and Spray Drift Precautions portions under the General Application Precautions section of this label_

DO NOT apply Pursuit herbicide with ground equipment when wind velocity is greater than 10 mph, or when spray may be carried to sensitive crops. Sensltive crops include leafy vegetables, sugar beets and cotton.

Refer to the General Application Instructions ~ortion of this label and to the Pursuit herDicide label for specific application instructions. Observe all application precautions, rotational guidelines and replanting instructions of each product's label when applying each product.

DRILL 'N DRAG APPLICATIONS

For conservation tillage use of Co~~and 4E herbicide where soil incorporatea applications are required, and the timing for EPP treatments has passed, Command 4 E may be applied using no-till drills capable of incorporating Command 4 E (i.e., "Drill 'N Drag"TN type equipment) . The following conditions apply:

1) Drills which result in incorporation, including Great PlainsR

Drills, TyeR Drills and CrustbusterR Drills which are equipped with fluted or rippled cou:ters and spring tines or harrows may be used. John DeereR Drills may be used but must employ spring tines or the equivalent to enhance incorporation. Drills shouid be operated at speeds greater than 6 mph to ensure enough soi 1 is mo,",~d to incorporate Command 4 E. Other minimum-till/no·till drill equipment may be used for "Drill and Drag" application of Command 4 E herbicide as long as their operaticn results in soil mixing.

2) When utilizing the "Drill and Drag" technique DO NOT APPLY Command 4 E herbicide within 1,000 feet of subdivisions and towns, commercial vegetable production (except sweet corn) commercial fruit production, commercial nurseries and comme=cial greenhouses. Caution must be taken to minimize spray drift as off-site movement of Command herbicide can cause foliar whitening or yellowing of some plants (refer to plant listing, and Spray Drift Precautions under the General Application Precautions section of this label).

3) Where soybean planting and Command 4 E application using the "Drill and Drag" technique is not a one-pass operation, drilling of soybean seeds must occur immediately after Command 4 E application on wet soils and within 8 hours on dry soils.

4) All other cautions and precautionary statements (sprayar cleanup, use rates, rotational cropping precautions and reL~rictions, etc.) on the Command 4 E label must be followed.
