Delhi- Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) Delhi- Mumbai Industrial corridor(DMIC) is a mega infra-structure project of USD 90 billion with the financial & technical aids from Japan, Covering and overall length of 1483 KMs between the political capital and the business capital of India, i.e. Delhi and Mumbai .A MOU was signed in December 2006 between Vice Minister, Ministry of Economy , Trade and Industry (METI) Of Government of Japan and Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion(DIPP).

Finally Government of India has announced established of the Multi- Modal High Axle Load Dedicated freight Corridor (DFC) between Delhi and Mumbai ,Covering an overall length of 1483 km and passing through the six states – U.P, NCR of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharastra , with end terminal at Dadri in the National Capital Region of Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru Port near Mumbai. Distribution of length of the corridor indicates that Rajasthan (39%) and Gujrat (38%) together constitute 77% of the total length of the alignment of freight corridor followed by Haryana and Maharastra 10% each and Uttar Pradesh and National Capital Region of Delhi 1.5% of total length each.

In Rajasthan, Shahjahanpur- Neemarana- Behror Investment Region , in North- Eastern Rajasthan, would be located within 50km from the alignment of Dedicated freight Corridor. This region also falls under the National Capital Region of Delhi and is on the National Highway No.8 which forms part of the Golden Quadrilateral. Government of Rajasthan has set out ambitious plans for the region by developing a Global City, to be spread over 40,000 Acres, between Shahjahanpur, Neemrana and Behror and expected to cater to Million Population.

A Global City is planned and all set for development is Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror on 40,000 acres of land and will house about a million people. The Global City would have cluster cities within – the Cyber City, Medicity Knowledge City, Bio-diversity Park, a Dry Port City and an airport facility. All the cluster cities would be self contained with residential and commercial spaces. RIICO is also putting up large industrial estates extending 2000 acres called Neemrana Phase III.

The industrial estates are drawing industry majors to set up their manufacturing

facilities here. Liberty Whitewar Hero Honda, Pallavi Copper Pipes and AMD Metplast are setting up their units, while facilities of Parle, Ginni and Rochee Breweries etc. Are already operational, Japanese automobile giant Nissan also plans to set a

manufacturing unit in Neemrana. Ansal API will set up a Rs. 6553 crore multi-product SEZ in Neemrana, over an area of 2500 acres. The real market in

Neemrana has been encouraged by the entry of these large corporate.

Japaneses Zone in Neemrana

Rajasthan government, through Rajasthan Industrial Cooperation (RIICO), has developed

industrial zones in various stages in Neemrana in Alwar district in the past several years. Apart

from the usual industrial areas, the Export Promotion Industrial Park (EPIP) and the Japanese

Zone in Majarkanth is particularly noteworthy. Many eminent companies from India and abroad

have set up their units in these industrial areas and many more new industries are arriving which

is not only adding a new dimension to the industrial progress of Rajasthan but also creating new

employment opportunities.

In this Japanese zone, spread over around 1200 acres, Japanese companies have set up units in

around 70% of the area. Rest 30 % part is expected to be filled up within the next 3-4 months.

At present, Japanese entrepreneurs have set up 28 industrial units, among which, the unit set up

by the Number one air-conditioner manufacturer in the world, Daikin Air-Condition deserves a

special mention. The Neemrana unit of Daikin is the company's first unit in India and it is investing

around Rs600 crores.

Similarly, Nissin Brake India Private Ltd has set up its unit here by investing Rs240 crores.

Similarly, Rs400 crores by Mitsubishi Chemical Private Ltd, Rs160 crores by Unicharm Hygenic

Private Ltd, Rs120 croes by ACI Mitshui Prime Advanced Composites Private Ltd, Rs155 crores by

auto-parts company Mikuni India Private Ltd and Rs100 crores by NYK Logistics India Ltd can be

counted among the chief investment initiatives which is making Neemrana a hub of Japanese

industries.

Apart from these, a unit of the world's largest steel making company - Nippon Steel - is also under

construction in Neemrana where more than Rs300 crores is expected to be invested. This steel

company has 150 unites across the world. Many more big companies, including the likes of Hero-

Honda is going to set up its units here. M/s Nipon Pipe Indiua Pvt Ltd has set up its unit by

investing Rs124 crores.

Neemrana is situated right in the middle of Delhi and Jaipur on the National Highway 8. It is only

122 kms away from Delhi and its distance from Indira Gandhi International Airport is just 100 kms.

Neemrana has a bright future because apart from being in the proximity to National Capital Region

(NCR), it is also a part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and the Delhi-Mumbai

freight corridor. In the near future, this area, apart from becoming the biggest auto hub in the

country, will also be the closest centre toDelhi which the largest automobile market in the country.

Senior Regional Manager of RIICO R C Jain says that the important industrial area of Rajasthan -

Bhiwadi, which is at the confluence of Delhi-Haryana and Rajasthan is being connected to the

Railway network via the Delhi-Mumbai freight corridor. Neemrana will get maximum benefits from

it. Under the National Highway (NH)-8 project, the Delhi-Jaipur highway is being converted into a

six lane road. Construction of a Super Express highway, parallel to this six-lane expressway is

also being planned which will pass through Neemrana.
